I have to say that nvidia DO go the distance to help developers learn and interface with their technology. I like amds open standard approach as well. But when I learned game programming I learned nvidias cg. Because they went out of their way to make books and free documentation / tutorials. I think it is one of the really positive things they do.
say what you will but you are in denial to the value of aiding developers. programming doesnt happen for free. this is the real world people have limited time and resources. nvidia has done a good deal of benefit to the development of software and the world. the early gpu gems series and related material from nvidia sped along the advancement of gpu based computation. this was before opencl and cuda. gpu compute was done via graphics libraries. and today we have a thriving ecosystem with multiple libraries and lots of hardware support. competition is still going on between amd and nivida in the massive field of gpu computation. so whether your fanboy head in the sand self can understand it or not: we need the hardware AND software AND publishing money to all work together to continue pushing forward.

You just don't want to admit you fell into their trap and now you're locked-in. When Intel comes along with their dGPU and it's both faster and cheaper, you're gonna be kicking yourself (or your employer is gonna be kicking you).
no actually im quite displeased with nvidia. their rtx line is pure garbage compared to what it could have been. i have written many comments on the matter here. and im excited for navi and have been for some time. i dont have favorites my opinions are based on fact and experience. you are a fanboy who cant look past your simple rigid views
Intel isn't going to release something that's not competitive. They cancelled Larrabee, and they'd sooner do it again, rather than release another uncompetitive product. But I don't think it'll be uncompetitive, because there's a pretty simple formula for making a successful GPU and they've got the will and the wherewithal to pull it off.
BTW, the reason I think it *could* beat Nvidia on price/performance is that Nvidia's margins are currently huge. Being the newcomer, I can imagine Intel taking a hit on margins, in order to build some market share. Without the same diversity in their product portfolio, Nvidia would be unable to match.
Now, if that sounds like fanboyism to you, then I guess we cannot conduct reasoned discourse.

The renderings are concept art that have offered by Intel. As the hothardware article points out, their earlier concept rendering shows a higher-end card with 6+8-pin aux connectors. I think the new rendering is meant more to be complementary, than as an update.
They have committed to a 2020 release date for this (as opposed to a 2019 release date for the Gen11 iGPUs with which you seem to be confused). Unlike Gen11, nothing is yet known about their Xe GPUs. Not specs, nor benchmark leaks. So, you really can't comment on their Xe GPUs, unless it's from a place of fanboyism.
And if I'm a kid, then you must be battling with senility. Perhaps you can form a club with HStewart of opinionated posters who disfavor facts.
