It's not Cherry switches, it's plastic, it appears to have no brightness control built in, we don't know the quality of the keycaps. No I think other manufacturers will be just fine.

By the way TTC vs Cherry switches are matter of tastes. Even tho I’ve never tried out this one but this $33 keyboard seems to have more quality than all others that cost $80+.

The keycaps are already higher quality than most keyboards at this price point purely by being made of PBT. Also, the quality of generic switch manufacturers have caught up to (or even surpassed) that of Cherry in these last couple of years. If it actually sells for less than $40, it's a very good deal for a name brand keyboard at that price.
Only xiaomi has been able to deliver what they intended with the price they are selling it with. Anyway I am interested but will only buy after a review (similar to other Xiaomi products I bought)
LOVE these guys, Xiaomi. For example, their Mi A2 (Mi 6X) with Snapdragon 660 is costing around 200 Euros - a quick comparison may be the Nokia 7 Plus, which is (literally!) double the price - and it's Android One; & any (small!) details, which they pass on - such as the DUMB idea of not including a quickcharger - really do *not* matter, when it is SUCH value for money! =)
Better just call it a gaming keyboard, because Xiaomi themselves didn't claim it is a mechanical keyboard(on their official Chinese advertising pages) , moreover under the TTL switches are still membranes. The switches only provide a mechanical-like feel, there are no electronic actuation things inside the switches.
But imo at this price is still a good keyboard and worth buying, since no one else ever build membrane keyboard this solid and useable yet still quieter than many other mechanicals, and also have decent backlight. There just don't have many manufacturers willing to make membranes like this. (Forgive my awful English:)

FWIW, the vaunted IBM keyboard worked the same way.
Okay so I have options to buy mech for around $30-70 in my country. Help decide:
- Local brand with Cherry MX is $45. - Local brand with Gateron is $30. - Magicforce with Gateron is $65. - Xiaomi with TTC is $50. - Or should I just save money and get local brands with Kailh/JWH/Outemu for $25?
This isn't the only RGB keyboard on the market. There are plenty more available now https://0rgb.com/best-keyboards/ with cool design and mechanical keys.
