I bet the SOC will be fine. We seem to have come to a plateau where even low end processors are capable of reasonable light usage on phone or tablet. The real question is why the hell Android 5.1 devices are still being launched? I'd take something like this in a heartbeat if the screen is decent and the SOC is indeed 'enough'. However I do want Android 6 so this is a no-go.
