iOS 9 supports all devices with an A5 SoC or newer. For iPads this includes everything except the original iPad, which is really impressive when you consider that the iPad 2 launched in early 2011
it is for sure impressive that you can run so many IOS upgrades on the IPAD2 but then again since IOS7 and mainly from IOS8 it is sluggish horrible slow. I have 2 of those, I wish I could run it on older versions again.... so no upgrade for me unless proven it works faster again.
Agreed. I'd still go back to 6 in a heartbeat, even with the 9 improvements. Still not up to par with pre-7 performance. Same as El Capitan on older hardware too.

To be honest, ran way better on 4-6 as well. It's cool that it gets support, but imo it got to a point where they were hurting A5 devices with more new OS's. I'm on the 9 Golden master, still not happy with it's performance, when it was fine on prior OS's. Like how El Capitan improved things, but it never quite got to where Snow Leopard was on Core 2 era Macs.
