HTC's done a reasonably good job about following Google's advice and turning most of the stuff in their skin into a collection of apps that can be installed/updated/removed independently of an OS update.
Yeah, pretty poor showing AnandTech. I know the writer may be sick/ill but you've got a good depth of writing talent. Your site finance team must be riding your ass for all the lost traffic. If they're not? Get a new financial team that plays hardball and gets your writing team to cover gaps.
It's kinda sad that HTC is resorting to this, I'd rather they score a deal to preload a dozen apps I can just dump once than get into the ad game... Not looking good for them tbh.
I guess only posting articles from the most wretched clickbait peddlers wasn't good enough.
For the few days before I uninstalled it from my new M8, I tried to have blinkfeed provide me with a selection of tech articles. I saw nothing from this site. Nothing from Ars Technica. Nothing from Extreme Tech, MSDN, Linux journal, Engadget, Gizmodo, The Register, Fudzilla, etc. Nothing from any technical blogs. It was all garbage at the level infoworthless or below.
I believe how it works is that the content provider (Anandtech in your context) has to approach HTC to be included. It isn't the other way around.
I don't recall if its free to participate or not, but I do know that Polygon went to HTC and asked to be on Blinkfeed.
Also, while I can't speak for tech articles, getting gaming news isn't so bad. Ignoring the Polygon clickbait, I get PC Gamer, Eurogamer and Reuters regularly.
Sorry. I paid for my phone fair and square. HTC can piss off. Or alternatively they can send me a cheque for the retail value of my phone and they can fill blinkfeed with ads to their hearts desire.
So where is this opt out that was mentioned. they have been spamming me with yelp mealtime suggestions for over a month and i have not found a way to stop it other than disabling the app.

I'm getting this adds since a month ago or so...I have a simfree One M7 from Amazon UK.
Refuge - Tuesday, June 16, 2015 - link
If they follow through with this, my M7 will be the last HTC I buy.I love the brand, and the phones. But I won't support any company that tosses adds into my phone after I paid $800 for it.
Nope that won't fly, never.

They were so uniformly awful, I assumed they were entirely bought and paid from the start.PS to thread a reply properly, click the reply button below the post you're replying to; not the Post a Comment button at the top of the page.

Damn, HTC must be really sinking in red to resort to such measures.
