And agreed, at least there are two. I love my HTC M7, perfect screen size any bigger and I don't think I would be happy. It is a stretch as it is to go to the opposing corner with one hand.
since all the offerings from HTC have been going down hill, I might check out one of these. I might upgrade this year afterall. :)
Update on myself: Apparently the FCC just approved a US P8 variant. Neat! I'm still not sure how it will do (performance is certainly worse than ex S6 but in this day how much does that matter?) and I'd be surprised if the camera is actually better, but it is still a really nice device.
If I’d be Samsung, I’d be shitting my pants. If I were an Android customer, I’d probably be getting a Huawei (since the Xiaomis aren’t available in Austria).
Another rather unimaginative case design—you have to wonder whether Apple is really the only company that can actually design hardware that’s even remotely halfway-original.
Having said that, the chinese manufacturers are definitely out-Samsuning Samsung, and since Samsung doesn’t have a wide ecosystem to differentiate themselves, they’ll be having a hard time selling against Huawei or Xiaomi in the markets where either of these two companies compete.
Now, I _am_ an Apple user, I love my iPhones and my MacBooks and iPads and it works great for me. And I _do_ find the (often) shameless copying of design language pretty lame and sad. Lame because the companies communicate "We can’t do anything original" and sad because even a copy has to be engineered and designed by _someone_ and those someones are clearly competent, otherwise the companies wouldn’t be able to build those handsets. The sad part is that I would love to see those people be able to design original hardware, because that would make the market even more competitive, imo.
But! If these phones are well made and durable and fast and have good camers, then people should be able to get their hands on them. I’d rather have someone use a really well made "copy" of an iPhone than a badly done one, and the chinese manufacturers are entering the market big time, which makes me assume Samsung will be in for a spanking.
And I bet the chinese manufacturers are already working full steam on creating whole ecosystems and will be copying the way Apple works on a much deeper level. It seems like they understand design better than their south korean counterparts, and the customers will benefit from that more.
Wait... So you are telling me that the iPhone 6 has a more imaginative case design? I hope you are referring to an accessory that I've not seen yet that is really cool.
Because they are both thin rectangles with big bright screens. If it werent for the individual labels I don't think I'd be able to tell it apart from the Huawei P8.
Oh that's right, Apple invented the rectangle, silly me how could I forget?
Stop being retarded. If Motorola can make a phone that doesn’t look like an iPhone—down to the available colors—why can’t anyone else? You’re all talking like there is only 1 possible shape, button arrangement, color scheme, speaker hole arragngement/design, etc that a phone can have.
wait, what? are you kidding? "Hardware that's even remotely halfway-original"? The only thing that's really original on the iPhone anymore is the 1 button for everything design. And the only reason it's original is because that idea is pretty stupid.
Stop being retarded. If nokia can make a phone that doesn’t look like an iPhone—down to the available colors—why can’t anyone else? You’re all talking like there is only 1 possible shape, button arrangement, color scheme, speaker hole arragngement/design, etc that a phone can have.
You know how to make Samsung original? Stop copying Apple's gold color, speaker grill, true tone flash and physical-home-button with Touch ID. I mean come on, who else made integrated battery in a phone before Apple? Who else uses Nano-SIM before iPhone? Look at Nokia and Window, original hardware and original software.
Stop being retarded. If LG can make a phone that doesn’t look like an iPhone—down to the available colors—why can’t anyone else? You’re all talking like there is only 1 possible shape, button arrangement, color scheme, speaker hole arragngement/design, etc that a phone can have.
Why apple fanboys are so much brainwashed?? why they MUST repeating same sht round n round iphone copy ? It is NOT ant iphone copy man .. Huawei is only one has best original design man ! just bcos u see camera or flash on same place?? It is completely DOESN'T look like iphone .. Copying or inspiring been here since WW I or WW II man ..
Wow - a 6.8" phone. If I ever get a phone that big, it will be a Windows phone, as you might as well be able to run all your standard windows programs on it. I like the second sim card/micro SD slot - that's a great idea.
It is a phablet no doubt. Nice features but the Huawei branding is not as strong and needs plenty of effort to bring it to the level of Samsung or LG. The pricing needs to be aggressive or else they can hardly match the demand for the other established flagship devices when prices are so close. Three phones video linking is a great feature not often needed when real sweet when used for sure.If it is reliable, remains to be seen.
I do not like how Anandtech has fallen to just spouting press releases like this. This is useless. Give us a review of the phone, or a preview of the phone, or skip it altogether until you can give us a review or preview. Don't just post a bunch of propaganda and nonsense pictures with timestamped blurbs of what the anandtech person is seeing... This is just a waste of space
What? This is hardly the first live blog coverage of an event for AT, they've been doing it for years. Used to be only Apple launches or maybe something big at a trade show would get the live blog treatment, not sure how they've fallen in any sense. It's clearly not new behavior nor intended as a review, just news coverage.
power consumption firewall. interesting. I once had an app that seems not responding and didn't bother then noticed my phone has been warm for minutes. I just did restart since I don't know what is the cause. It might provide good value as most consumers wouldn't notice that their phone consuming more power than is required and only to discover that the phone won't make it for the whole day.
Never seen so many marketing buzzwords in one presentation! Also worht noting that India is not on the list, but Pakistan is. Maybe related to China and Pakistan being mates...
Right. There are enough buzzwords here to last a marketing student 4 years through college.
BTW, I am going to guess no India on the 1st day because India banned/shunned Huawei. FOr a while India and US were pushing local company to stop using Huawei products.
Did they say how much Chinese spyware they'll be putting on here? If you own a business, the Chinese will still everything they can from you. Wouldn't be surprised if this phone's design or software or engineering or something is stolen from another company. China as a whole is a joke of a country, ripping off everyone else because they are too stupid to come up with their own stuff.

They are really going after Apple/Samsung here. Comparing almost every feature directly to iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6.xype - Wednesday, April 15, 2015 - link

Just makes sense to. Want to jump into the shark tank in America? Start lining up shots on the two biggest sharks before you jump in.I say good, more competition.
