haha suckers, I'm still rocking pre-MDL Gmail-4.9. I get to see (one two three four five six ... [continues muttering] ) nine-and-a-half individual email rows in the app. Additionally it's not that blinding white theme that makes it annoying to use at night.
This feature is the sole reason why I stopped using Mailbox. I hate seeing my personal email and work email together, and in my opinion, gmail's "saved searches" features isn't powerful enough to setup easy ways to quickly switch contexts. A separate search would be needed for each inbox for filters like "has:yellow-star". This is definitely not for me.
Still not as convenient as the Blackberry 'Hub' which lets you see all incoming email, messages, and notifications in a unified inbox...
...and lets you quickly select (filter) to see only email messages, or only a certain email account, or only SMS messages, or only notifications, etc.... on the fly.
The Blackberry hardware isn't impressive, but it's still the fastest way to communicate and manage those streams of messages that bombard us all day long.
I concur. The Blackberry Hub is a grand unifier [it even unified messages from Linked In IIRC]. Their hardware is somewhat on the low-end though I got their Z10 for 199 USD a year back and was a great deal. If I had not broken the screen, I would have continued to use that instead of falling back on Android.
I'm not sure really understand what it is about this feature that is "new". I've had multiple accounts handled by gmail for years. Since the beginning, all of my emails (from both accounts), have shown up in the same inbox. Furthermore, I've never noticed threaded view behavior changing between the different email accounts - they both get threaded views.
You probably set up Gmail to import mail from another account tho (which has to be done on a PC originally and not everyone wants their email flowing that way), rather than having two different accounts set up within Gmail, it's a small but important distinction. This allows you to set up separate accounts right from the app, including non-Gmail accounts, and view them either separately or unified.

Go to My Account in Google, sign-in & Security, App Passwords. You need to use one of these consistently to allow Gmail password reset errors desktop to use Gmail online. If you have Microsoft Office and are using the desktop to send your Gmail this is not required.
It will mix the emails from multiple GMail + Hotmail + Yahoo accounts into 1 stream if u had set up. Previously you would need to select the Respective Account to see what is inside.
Now, you can have a grand unified "VIEW" of all email accounts you have added to the GMAIL app....
As I said, this makes it 1 inch closer to the Blackberry Hub feature of BBOS 10 .....

I don’t see what you mean then. You can configure your inboxes on web, you can switch accounts in the drawer header, and you can choose to not use the new "all inboxes" feature by not using it. Every solution for the possible interpretations of your question are available already.
I thought you actually had a problem, not an extra item in your nav drawer. i am lukcy to be here. http://luckypatcher.me/

The way I handle that is by using 2 apps, or apps with a unified inbox still have separate inboxes, too.smorebuds - Tuesday, March 31, 2015 - link
It's just an option. You don't have to make use of it.I'd probably only use it if I wanted to do broad searches across all my accounts at once, which I could see coming in handy.
