Mostly the same it seems, but with a different LED at least (AFAICT). Probably like the difference between Cherry MX Black and Red or something -- a very slight tweak so SteelSeries can have an exclusive switch -- and Logitech can have an exclusive as well.
A mechanical switch, made to feel like a membrane switch, priced above almost all other regular mechanical keyboards on the market, and built to "target gamers"? I hope "gamers" realize they are getting the shaft on this thing!
Ive been following the progress of Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous and the eye tracking technology lends itself well to those games although a Rift and a good flight stick would make for some immersive space flight simming :) Question, why does noone make a reasonable left handed joystick? (i know i know, Im broken :/)
At first I wasn't sure about these new switches from SteelSeries but man I gotta tell you it's a hell of a keyboard. In the last couple of months I've tested 3 KB's. 1) Corsair K70 RGB (Cherry Red switches), 2) Razer Blackwidow Chroma RGB (their own mech switch that feels like a Cherry Blue), 3) SteelSeries M800 Mechanical QS1 switch. I liked the build quality of the Corsair but hated the software, the bugs that came with it and didn't care for the Cherry Red's. The Razer switch had a nice clicky feel to it and the software was not bad but the quality just wasn't there. The SteelSeries has great build quality although I wish there was less plastic and more metal. The software is the best of the 3 and so is the quality of the lighting. I wish the SteelSeries came in a "clicky" version (my fav switch is Cherry Green's) but despite that I'm really starting to love the M800 Mechanical version of this KB. Just thought I would share my experience.
