Your vote for AMD new settle is positive: excellent.

Wow, this seriously might have pushed me up from shopping for a 285 to a 290 except I preordered...

Why push this title of all games? I don't see why it would matter if you get 20 fps in Beyond Earth.

Sometimes it's not about frame rates but popularity, and by scoring a developer tie-in with Civilization: Beyond Earth AMD has a pretty big win. The whole Mantle thing and reduced latency is great as a proof of viability as well; now we just need to see other developers take that approach on games where it would actually matter -- FPS and action games, basically. But regardless, getting a free copy of Civ:BE with an R9 290/290X (is anyone seriously considering the R9 295X2!?) is a nice deal, assuming you don't already have the hardware and/or game.

Because it uses Mantle and a few other AMD goodies..

i just bought an 280x and i feel scammed. I thought that just the simple act of buying an r9 would give you the right to download the games of the never settle bundle. I bought ati/amd for 10 years straight.. i'm considering selling it now for an 970gtx.

The Never Settle bundle has been offered for months. Only Civilization: Beyond Earth was just offered for their 3 top cards (R9 295X2, R9 290X and R9 290). Where did you purchase it from? Only certain retailers carry the bundle. Blame yourself for not researching properly.

Google "never settle space edition bundle", click on the first link, then scroll down to see the official e-tailers that carry the bundle.

i'm italian, is not that easy- and i'd say screw "only certain retailers". I want to be able to go to my trusted shop owner or since i'm an it consultat to go to the wholesale and buy it for myself. The way i see it, i got scammed out of at least 30-40€

sireangelus... Other people live in Europe too and know how to do this stuff. It's no scam if you have the information available. You were just not smart enough. Tough luck.
  • sireangelus - Sunday, November 9, 2014 - link

yes it's a scam, cause it says it only at the end and in little text or using * . I bet you don't have to do this kind of thing with nvidia.

You really think Nvidia sends codes to every mom-and-pop store in the World? No, they don't. They have the same policy as AMD. Nvidia has certain retailers/e-tailers for their bundles.

Sometimes you have to admit "I messed up" to move forward.
