With the megaflop that the SF3700 has become (huge development delays, apparent heat issues, merger distractions, etc), I hope these guys also consider using Marvell's competing controller.
ADATA is definitely considering other options and Marvell is definitely one of them. I have ton of info regarding their future plans and will be writing it all up over the next two weeks or so.
Great news! By "competing controller (to the SF3700)", I think that's the Marvell 88SS9293 or similar. I impatiently await upcoming m.2 pcie x4 SSDs and the laptops that make good use of them.
The question is what the power usage is compared to the (crappy but presumably very low power) flash used in tablets today. There may also be an issue not with mean power but peak power --- the power required to sustain a long series of writes may simply be beyond what a tablet (at least one that is not specially engineered for the task) can handle.
...because ssds based on that controller are not that bad. A single chip solution like that would be perfect for motherboards and laptops as a cache using intels lates 9 series chipsets.
I purchased a wireless charging pad from ravower at amazon. I'm thinking about built it into my desk, so I can just put my phone on the desk to get it to charge.

So basicly SP920 is a highend drive, SP910 is a midrange (using older controller) and sp610 is supposed to be entery level ?Also, i wonder what performance that micro ssd will put out. JMF608
