Frankly, I never buy bundles. I bought one bundle when I first signed up for Steam and that was the Indie Music Bundle (or some such title; basic gist is there though) and I've regretted it ever since.
All I really wanted was Audiosurf, and I ended up getting 4 other games I haven't touched in years. Now they're clogging up my Steam Library, and my inner OCD hates that.
Add to that the fact that I paid $5 for what should have been a $2.49 game and I simply chose to opt-out of all further bundles.
Even at $1, it's pointless to have so many unused keys lying around, and I frankly hate owning games I have no intention of playing.
I only buy games on real promotions. actually i bought maybe 4 or 5 bundles, but have installed only a few select tittles.
I believe it's good to have this alternative, but with so much offer and so unknown games, it will become harder and harder to get people interested in bundles.
Jarred, would you mind pointing out what games or bundles might be interesting for kids? I would pick it up knowing that some day they would want to play.
Most of these appear to be targeted at early teen (maybe 9-10 at least) or older; I don't know that I've seen anything I'd specifically say is a "kid-friendly" game.
Now that the bundles are getting so big and so numerous, is there any way you could organize future articles to use tables or some other formatting to make it clearer?
I bought the bundlestars bundle, with xbox controller support, $2 is too good a deal. Damnit, this site better support my family after I get fired for gaming 24/7.
One other bundle you might have missed is the AWESOME Flying Bundle. http://www.flyingbundle.com/ The Bundle is $3.00 and among other things you get Hero Siege and Skyward Collapse with DLC. It's a great little bundle. It contains Hero Siege like the Gala Bundle, but it's almost half the price. I also feel that the other games in the bundle are much better than the one's that accompany Hero Siege from Gala.
Great article by the way! Glad to see more focus being given to these bundles and the awesome value they give gamers in addition to the visibility they provide to Indie Developers. There's so many great games I've played I would have never had a clue about if they weren't in a bundle. That's really tuned me in to some developers who I follow and await their next work.
