    Another me too clone. Does anyone else crave some innovation in the phone market?

    I dunno, for me, I just want a fast CPU, 1080p, 2-3GB RAM, 16+GB Flash, etc. I don't really care about gimmicky features.

    However, I bet this phone will sell tons in China.

    So you want basically every flagship phone.

    The "old" Ascend Mate was a great phablet for the price, with fabulous battery life. I doubt very much the new one will be worse. Depends on the price of course, but if you're not after the latest specs the Ascend Mate really isn't bad at all.

    I've been very happy with my Huawei Ascend Mate except that I find 6" to be too big for a phone but that is another issue really. During the time I've owned it, the HAM has been very reliable whereas my wife's HTC phone died, her Nexus 4 is giving trouble and my daughter's Nexus 7 tablet has been back for repair 3 times. The HAM has a good screen, good sound, its fast enough and Android updates come through promptly. Phablet's are great when weight is critical (like hiking) but for the rest of the time, I will replace it with a smaller phone, a camera and a tablet. If I was going to buy another phablet, I'd have no hesitation in getting this update to the Huawei Ascend Mate.

    Everyone that owns the device, or plans to own it, if you want any of the following:
    * Updated Android
    * Port roms like Cyanogenmod or ParanoidAndroid
    * Root access

    Post HERE requesting it to have it's own dedicated forum:
