I have set up hpav for all my friends and family that were having issues streaming videos through wireless and where ethernet is not available, and it runs soo much more consisitent than wifi for streaming video.

My house was built in 1870, and for some reason they didn't think that 140 years later someone would be trying to use high speed internet through the house, so for ages I struggled with ugly cables everywhere, and then I got excited about wifi n, only to discover it was just as crap as g, with the connection constantly going down and absolutely horrific speeds.

Then I discovered homeplug or powerline or whatever its generic name is, and I now have a 500mb/s line with a 4 port hub at one end. It's genuinely been 100% reliable for about 2 years now.

After reading this article, I just sold all my netgear hpav 500 gear on ebay in anticipation of Hpav2. They claim multiple mimo and fatter channel bandwidth. Should be awesome.

So you now have no networking for up to a year? Are you waiting by the door?

I have backup networking, between wireless and Moca. Moca is better throughput than hpav, but with Moca I'm limited to coax outlets, which are not as common as electric plugs.
