Listening to this one now. Cheers guys.
----- As an aside, can you quickly look into the Podcast naming schema, meta data and tag usage?
Right now, the Podcast tag is missing from Episodes 5-7 (though a text search for "podcast" brings up all of them), and the recent Episodes 9-12 are displaying under a weird "Anand Shimpi1's Album" on my phone (Android, HTC OneX, Google Play Music). Episodes 1-8 went into "Anand Shimpi's Album" as a comparison.
Also, a picture of the AnandTech logo wouldn't hurt either. In addition to aesthetic cleanliness with the rest of ones Album view, those sidelong glances at the screen from people sitting beside a smartphone user on a train or plane lead to curious Google searches and new listeners. -----
I agree with your first 2 paragraphs. The third however seems fixed, at least I get the Anandtech logo in my Galaxy Nexus Google Play Music app. :) Loved the episode!
-HTC OneX using ICS 4.0.3 -Google Play Store v3.10.10 -Google Play Music v4.4.811H.526848 which is apparently up to date according to Play Store -Downloading the MP3 version, and dropping it into the "Podcasts" folder, no sub-folder, and playing it locally.
Does this match up with your use case? Maybe you're streaming it or something? I'm just getting the default Orange+Blue backdrop for detected metadata. For a comparison, an Ars Technica or manthoughts.com podcast has a very prominent logo on the screen.
As for the podcast, was very enjoyable. I'll be buying some Flint and Tinder soon! Hope they ship to Canada...
Great podcast. I enjoy the funny little side-discussions you guys have. All I can say about getting sick is wash your hands often (especially before eating, even if you have to use hand sanitizer - sorry Brian!) and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth (easier said than done, sadly) as much as possible. Eating good amounts of vegetables really helps me, especially broccoli.
It feels so good to have you guys vocalize the frustration about the stagnation in the large PC display market. Like you pointed out, you never know who is listening to these things - maybe somebody big. Because people respect your opinions, maybe it will help to accelerate a solution. Thank you for bringing it up Ian!
Thank you all for risking your health and sanity to bring us probably the best tech coverage out there. Best wishes!!
Regarding Ubuntu for Phones, Canonical is going to officially support Nexus 7 on Ubuntu 13.04. It's very easy to install too (requires to wipe the tablet though).
If you guys like the Supima cotton boxer briefs, you'll really like the ones from Icebreaker. Yeah, it's not from the US (from New Zealand), but they're amazing. Key difference between cotton and wool is cotton holds water, wool does not, so all the sweat and associated funk is pretty non-existant for merino boxers. Okay, if you wear it for 2 weeks in a row playing WoW, maybe you'll coat it with your cooties, but one week...totally fine.*
Now of course if you test say a game continously, it's probably going to use only the Cortex A15's, so you need to be careful when testing battery life, to test it in a way that is as close as possible to a "real world scenario" where a normal person would be using probably mostly just the Cortex A7 cores. So make sure your battery tests don't test mostly the Cortex A15's, whenever you'll get such a chip to test, which would be pretty unrealistic scenario for most people, I think.

So as far as I know, Canonical is already betting on tablets (and ARM).
