    So does this mean that with the new chipset that the player must honor Cinavia flags even if it is playing back MKV/BDMV content from the network or hard disk?

    Would be interesting to know. However is this system can actually deliver and output content it will sell well. Sure the DRM is a bit of a drag but I see that as premium content. New movie out I want to see with my son and I do not want to go out to a theater, sure I will pay a few dollars. As you said if it can not play our own videos, then that is a deal breaker. I am looking forward to a review on shipping hardware.
