Nice, I think Microsoft is opening a small window of opportunity to pull an Xbox 360 with windows phone. If they can integrate they're three platforms together (windows, WP, and Xbox) then I think there's an exciting future ahead of us.
Awesome stuff like using your WP to browse the TV guide while watching another channel on your XBOX.
Get your xbox friend messages on your phone, and reply on your phone - anywhere.
Remote control your HTPC or Xbox with a windows tablet to seamlessly bring up media on your big screen TV (thats the ideal way to watch youtube/starcraft with friends).
I'm hoping that I can somehow remotely turn on my xbox so I can queue demos and such for download and then turn on my xbox so that the downloads are complete when I get home. Not sure how that'd be possible, but it'd be nice if it could be done.
in using the standard controller, the dvd remote, chat pad, and kinect if you have and or all of those, and this if you have a windows phone... can't say you don't have a lot of of different ways to navigate around the xbox 360
Someone has to make something like this for controlling a HTPC's TV tuner app, it will be a great hit to completely replace your TV remote with your phone.
Some phones back in the days actually almost did that, with their IR diodes and suitable apps they could become universal programmable remote controls, but now almost no phone has IR any more. And besides, specifically for the case of controlling a HTPC, doing it through an IR receiver seems a redundant complication when both the PC and the phone are already connected with wifi anyway.
Mark this post and my words. MS is going to hit a home run with Win8 on the desktop, tablet and phone. They will integrate all three to run regualr desktop apps and connect to all their devices (xbox, Exchange, Bing, etc). Only MS is positioned to pull it all together in a professional way and make the experience not only useful but powerful and enterprise worthy. Other companies have a piece of the pie but can't deliver....MS may come late to market, but like Xbox they will DOMINATE once they arrive.

I dont get the point of it? It's far easier to just use the 360 controller to select something, or use the keyboard attachment for typing.Surely there must be some other benefit?
