11.9 will be out tomorrow. As for the latest download, be sure to use the links in our article. Preview releases don't show up on the main AMD driver page.
Man, everytime I see driver improvements for 5x1 portrait I wonder how much GPU power a setup like that needs. I have a 3x1 landscape setup that I have to turn down many settings on a Radeon 5970. I feel like I might need two 6990's (or at least 3 6970's) to run at full spec, and in that case, would it still be enough power to go to 5x1? DX11 crushes cards.
I just built an Eyefinity 6 setup using a Powercolor 6870 w/ 6 displayport outputs. 2-27inch Samsungs and 4 24 inch Viewsonics, All 1080P. Also installed Driver3 which came free with the card and it performed without issue. Regular desktop interaction has no noticeable difference.
Driver 3 must be some piece of technology then hahah...a 6870 is not a card that can render 6x 1920x1200 in normal games I´m afraid...I wouldn´t even try usking 3 screens because a 6870 suffers from lack of VRam at 1 display already...
loose the card and buy a 6950 2gb for eyefinity or a next gen card for decent eyefinity 6.
a 5970 has 2 gb, that´s 1 gb per core which is not enough for eyefinity...buy a 2GB card with 1 core for this setup. That will be a 6950 or a 6970 which is a 6950 as well for 70 euro´s extra

11.9 isn't out yet... maybe they'll skip a month for a change? But the early preview of 11.10 might be sufficient.Ryan Smith - Tuesday, September 27, 2011 - link

Thanks for the info on 11.9 Ryan. I did see the download link for 11.10 so I should have said the latest non-preview official release I see is 11.8.GaMEChld - Saturday, October 1, 2011 - link
