There's a lot of talk that this could also be a stand in for the Nexus Prime, of which a few things are known. First, Samsung's building it; second, TI's OMAP 4460 will be featured. 4460 should handle 1.5 Ghz no problem, so it's possible.
If this is really a 4.5" display, that would make it different from the Droid Charge and Samsung Galaxy S II displays, which have the same 4.3" 480 x 800 SAMOLED+ display. This would hint at a higher resolution than 480 x 800. A 4.5" display is getting to the point where only 480 x 800 is not enough pixels, in my opinion.
You've never used one have you? I used to think the same thing until I did, they are thin enough where they still fit comfortably in my pants pockets, and for talking (and I have small hands), and the extra screen size is welcome when using applications.
Not every phone is made for every person, there are people who appreciate these phones, even if you don't.
Yes, I have (Samsung Galaxy S, an LG WP7 model, a Samsung Omnia.. ). They are not thin enough. At least they have the same thickness as a standard Nokia bumbphone, just they are also bigger due to the screen size.
There ARE small smartphones, just as rare as snowballs in hell (and thus I cannot get them in my middle-of-nowhere country..)
I had a generic Samsung non-smart cell phone a couple of years ago that required charging every two days with minimal usage. Three batteries and two phones later and I switched to LG which, 2.5 years later, still lasts 1 week on a single charge with minimal usage.
How good are current Samsung smart phones in this regard?
Not sure why more manufacturers are not coming out with 8.9 inch devices. I briefly used a friends LG Gslate a couple of months ago and I think they strike the perfect balance between the portability of a 7 inch and the utility of a 10 inch device. I feel only the 4:3 9.7 inch devices feel as comfortable to hold.

That's possible as well. I'm just referencing to the rumor from a couple weeks back or so about the Samsung Celox.http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/09/samsung-galaxy-...

Tell me people, why is it good to have a frying pen as a phone? 4.5 inches.. When were phones of such size? Early 90s?GuinnessKMF - Monday, August 29, 2011 - link
