RTX 4070 should be $300. You all need to stop being willing to pay these OUTRAGEOUS prices. RTX 4080ti should be a $500 card. WHY ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY $1000 FOR A GPU?!?! It's INSANE!

We, as the consumers, can drive prices down. Just simply REFUSE to spend so much on a GPU. REFUSE. RTX 4060 should be $200. RTX 4070 $300. RTX 4080 $400. If ALL OF US simply refuse to pay more then prices WILL come down. We have the power, start using it!

Gamers are not the brightest among human civilization typically. There was a time when that may have been different, but in the present day its rather a polar opposite of the stereotyped history of being domain of the intellectual. Instead its accessible to the masses and among the masses, those that dive deep into it are, well, generally the residue at the bottom of the human barrel with little motivation to better themselves or move out of their parents' living space so don't expect much to change.

I feel the same and still running my GTX1070Ti that I payed to much for back in the day. It still runs the games I play at 2K resolution so they can sit and spin.

If you think they could sell cards for those prices in 2024, you've been living under a rock. You might want to look up component prices and revise your expectations.

With that said, the current prices are definitely excessive. The 30 series was honestly a steal for the performance it offered (at least at MSRP), and maybe one day Intel and AMD will be properly competitive and we'll see things normalize more towards that level.

NVIDIA is making serious bank so, yes, you are seriously living under a rock.

You're confusing corporations with non-profits. Corporations care about you in terms of one thing only: How much of your life they can siphon into their valuation.

    Non-profits, though, are their handmaidens.

Inflation is higher than you realize. Corporations' response to consumers' perception of increased inflation has resulted in more inflation.

I wonder if it might be possible to unlock some of these. That would be cool.
