Well, crap. Every time I find a really wonderful set of gaming headsets, the company stops making them by the time they wear out. Love my wired Sennheiser's, but they're showing some age.
"Following extraordinary demand sparked by the pandemic in 2020, the gaming market has slowed down significantly due to weak consumer sentiment, and we do not see a viable path to creating a profitable business without significant investments in products, brand and distribution. We of course regret the impact our decision will have on affected employees and would like to thank all employees who have worked very hard to build the Gaming business under difficult circumstances."
So we sucked everything we could out of this without putting anything back into it, and now we don't want to spend any of that profit to sustain the business. Nice corporate greed stance! Shocker, the rich get richer and the people who did all the work get to go find another rich overlord/s to toil away for.
I would be so mad if my >$100 headset broke within 1 year, and I had to buy another one. The last one I was using, a corsair wireless, lasted like 7 years before the padding started to deteriorate.
Although I imagine there will be eventually be more options from other companies down the line, Epos having the first solid pair of low latency "gaming" true wireless earbuds has been a game changer for me.
I certainly enjoy them for gaming on the go, but I appreciate them the most for using with my work when I'm meeting with people over video call and don't have to pull out a full set of headphones to have an option other than laptop speakers (I work in a mental health field, and you'd be surprised how much a bit of latency can throw off the human capacity for staying in empathy).
Huh. I didn't even know Sennheiser made gaming headsets. I don't need such a thing for gaming, but I'd take a good noise cancelling headset for video conferencing. Maybe I should grab one, before they're gone.
