I have had a few of their low-end phones, usually as extra phones for my PoGo alt accounts. Performance was fine when compared to others with the same specs, but oh my goodness does ZTE stuff a LOT of bloatware into them. I'm talking multiple gigabytes of junk, none of which can be uninstalled. Their Android skin, at least before, was pretty awful as well. But as I said, that is low-end; I have no idea if the higher-end stuff is better in that regard. If AnandTech does a review of the Axon 30 Ultra, I would really hope they would dedicate a page to the software experience and support/update policy of ZTE phones.
Currently using an axon 7, pretty great overall only the haptics are not the best. However, the newer devices have nothing that made the axon 7 great in my opinion. I really like the dual front speakers, expandable storage and phones that are not made out of glass.
I had the Axon 7 some years ago, and loved it. The specs on this one sound very promising. Nice to see them back at doing a flagship-level phone again (at a much more agreeable price than many of the mainstream phones).
I had the Axon Pro years back. It received one update within the first year (phone released in July 2015 and got update in February 2016). That was it. A flagship device that basically received less than one year of updates. Its performance didn't match the specs, and just felt slow. I would never buy again.
