    any updates on the Reviews??????????
  • romrunning - Wednesday, December 16, 2020 - link

Maybe Ryan/Anandtech is on Nvidia's blacklist. Nvidia already tried to blacklist Hardware Unboxed (tech reviewers on YT), and they've done it to others as well. Maybe that's the reason we're not seeing any reviews on AT.

i don't think this is the reason, how about the Radeon RX 6000 series! PS5 ,...! on the Other hand the CPU reviews are excellent, hope things will get clearer soon.

Don't you feel shameful for spreading misinformation like this? If they were on the blacklist, you don't think Anandtech will tell people about it?
  • romrunning - Thursday, December 17, 2020 - link

It was a bit tongue-in-cheek to invent a reason for the lack of recent GPU reviews. :)

What sites other than HUB did Nvidia try to blacklist? AMD on the other hand has done this to multiple of sites...
  • romrunning - Thursday, December 17, 2020 - link

JayzTwoCents also mentioned being blacklisted a number of times in his response to the HUB issue. But I'm not trying to build lists myself. The original comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek.

However, even with a huge entity like Nvidia, PR/marketing depts still have budget amounts to try to stay within. They definitely have a list of "approved" sites that will receive in advance new products; if nothing else, they have to know how many to reserve from production & ship in advance of general release.

I try not to be a fanboy of either. I just wanted continued competition from multiple players; that, in turn, will keep on helping technology to advance.

I can safely say I am not blacklisted. If I was, I would have fewer cards to test, which would make my life a whole lot easier!

Good to hear! My initial post was a bit tongue-in-cheek, but it did have a bit more bite based upon a real recent example. :)

I've enjoyed Anandtech for many years, so whatever the reasons for delay, I hope the site continues to publish in-depth coverage for years to come!

You know you said that the Review is coming soon... are we talking Blizzard soon or Valve soon?

    +1
  • Sivar - Saturday, December 19, 2020 - link

At least we know it isn't "CD Projekt Red" soon because this is Anandtech.
  • Yojimbo - Wednesday, December 16, 2020 - link

There's no independent repository of people to receieve cards. There are just people with an auduence who request cards and people sellings products who decide who they want to provide them to.

Nvidia has been unable to obtain a 3080 or 3090 card to send to Anandtech, but they promise production will catch up soon.

Makes a lot of sense to extend the bundle due to the factors of competition and lack of access to the new GPUs. Its a good move on NV's part even if CoD isn't everyone's cup of tea.

This was desperately needed for those of us that bought the card but have no other parts to pair it with. Hopefully i get the CPU and mobo very soon
  • romrunning - Wednesday, December 16, 2020 - link

Hey, extending a promo deal on something you can't buy - how magnanimous of them! ;-)
  • shabby - Wednesday, December 16, 2020 - link

Yup it's win win for them, free pr.

We can just bide our time playing on a PS5 or Xbox Series X. Oh wait.
  • BlueScreenJunky - Thursday, December 17, 2020 - link

Is this supposed to be a joke ? I've been queueing for my 3080 for 2 months and there's no way I'll be getting it in January (I'm hoping for march...).
  • kludj - Friday, December 18, 2020 - link

:| is this some kind of Nvidia-mandated post? What am I supposed to do with this information? I'll be bone meal before Nvidia/partners can get 30X0s in stock.

I can't even whine about Cyberpunk because I can't play it; but what am I to do, wait to find a PS5, or just play it at 5FPS like everybody else?

If only you could buy a card to take advantage of the deal.. That's the kicker. As for Anandtech not releasing much in the way of video card reviews during all these launches. Ryan, I am sure you know many of us are disappointed, but it's not like it's the first time and I am sure it won't be the last. Guessing the bulk of the work falls to a few of you who's lives have evolved over time.. The call out for writers/reviewers is noteworthy. Best wishes to all at AnandTech (fans of the site and staff alike..) in the New Year.
