It is because it's new to them. It will come to alienware later. And G5 SE is not "budget" it's the "classic" price point. If they came with an alienware, and something is a bit crampy whit 5600m or ryzen it would be less acceptable than in a Dell G5, I guess.
No it's not.....it's incredible how ignorant people are of history, especially when it was only a few years ago. Throughout the 2000s, Intel bribed OEMs, like Dell, to NOT BUY AMD CPUs. We know this is an undeniable fact because Intel was convicted of being guilty of this in several courts of law around the world. When all the facts came to light, it was discovered that Dell, moreso than any other OEM, was the most "involved" in this. In disclosed emails between Intel executives, one intel executive even stated, and I quote: "Dell is the best friend money can buy".
There's no way that anyone with intelligence that just because Intel was caught, they'd stop doing this....if it's profitable to break the law and pay the fines, that's exactly what they'll do. The original poster pointed out exactly what's going on...intel is probably pressuring these OEMs to block AMD from getting into the top of the line models, even though it's now public knowledge that Ryzen 4000 ARE undeniably the best mobile CPUs currently available. Don't tell me "OEMs are scared", Asus made the Zepheryus G14, a top of the line model, and it paid off. Other OEMs have undoubtedly seen this example, and are aware of Ryzen 4000's superiority....and yet they don't act. I wouldn't be surprised if Intel is just giving away CPUs in exchange from barring AMD from high end models...after all, they were convicted of doing just that exact thing previously.
Actually they found a way to work around the bribing issue... these days Intel (and AMD as if they have a choice) are funding R&D OEM for producing certain production lines. So you can already guess what is happening? The one with the worst CPU currently still hast the most budget to spend… so if they fund more they keep selling more as there are more lines in the stack that consumers might buy. So things never change unless consumers understand what they buy which in 75% of the cases is not the … case. End of story consumer is the one suffering as Always from large capital companies.

No other manufacturers producing a 15.6” AMOLED panel other than Samsung Display. They are rumored to be producing a 1080P version of this though.
