I'm glad to see the x360 models are on Ryzen 4000. That's a pretty good upgrade for those and prices look nice! I'd like to see more info on those models (and if SSDs are soldered or M.2).
Nice to see HP offering some nice AMD designs. The 4800U SKUs should be competitive with the MX330 (MX250 rebrand) as long as it has a proper LPDDR4X configuration, with better battery life and CPU performance too. Should be a pretty attractive proposition!
Soldered is pretty much a given in that product category. Hopefully it's LPDDR4X and not DDR4, in which case the question would be whether it's quad or octo channel (as LPDDR4X channels are 16 bits wide and not 64). Hopefully it's the latter, as anything else would be a crying shame for a laptop like this.
As a matter of fact, per the specs screenshot it's a regular DDR4. That's why I'm hopeful it's not soldered even though energy-wise it's not the best choice (but hey, $699...).
ENVY x360 13 or the 15 look tempting if they won't be throttling with an 8-core Ryzen there.
What to pick now... either go x360 as a day to day use laptop and some codding on Linux (Kubernetes/Docker - they do like cores, not sure how they react to U-series lower clocks)
...or just got full DTR laptop - like that Clevo with desktop Ryzen (3900 + RTX) which would handle Linux side as well as Windows gaming but with locking to Turing (will loose value when Ampere/laptop Ampere launches) and not always taking it with me due to size/weight. But the pricing is really good.
There are lighter like that envy 15 but with that Intel + Nvidia it will have a loud cooling (and loud annoys me).
I also hope the new Envy does not suffer this same issue. Previous models of Spectre had advanced options in BIOS to configure backlighting to properly fit your usage scenario. Current models have these options removed.

Not Renoir, not interesting.TechnicallyLogic - Thursday, April 16, 2020 - link
Wait, one of them actually is RenoirValantar - Thursday, April 16, 2020 - link
Two of them...tipoo - Thursday, April 16, 2020 - link
That's a lot of cooling engineering just to not be Renoir.Valantar - Thursday, April 16, 2020 - link
No, you got that wrong. That's a lot of cooling engineering _because_ it isn't Renoir.SirKronan - Thursday, April 16, 2020 - link
These will be available in May and June, eh? Just like the new Spectre x360 15 was available in "March"?.... still waiting

Is there information if the RAM is soldered and if the RAM is single-channel in the new ENVY x360 13?Valantar - Thursday, April 16, 2020 - link

Would love to see a 120hz OLED in a notebook. Any?Valantar - Friday, April 17, 2020 - link
Don't think there are any 120-Hz capable OLED panels available in those sizes.yetanotherhuman - Friday, April 17, 2020 - link
" For 2020 the refresh moves to Ice Lake processors up to the Core i7-1065G7, and optional NVIDIA MX330 graphics"Wrong. Renoir is the only thing that will interest me these days.

To be fair I dislike HP products anyway, so I'd rather buy a Dell, but the point is still true.morello159 - Friday, April 17, 2020 - link
Envy X360 13 has my name on it if Dell does put Ryzen 4000 in the XPS 13 this year. I'd love the 16:10 screen but I want that 4800U sweetness too.riklaunim - Friday, April 17, 2020 - link

Received word from HP. They expect the new 2020 HP Spectre x360 15 inch models to drop end of this month or beginning of May. Can't wait!!I really hope they have addressed the serious backlighting issue that plagues current models of Spectre:

Is there any real point to having a NVIDIA MX330 graphics in these? (When compared to the intel iGPU)
