I concur about prices compared to self builds, but this is targeting a market that will put this on their balance sheets as a business expense along with service contracts that are balanced against the earnings this will enable. For a home gamer or user who has time to do their IT work, the savings of building and maintaining your own are worth it. For a business it's more about deploying something that works out of the box and has as little downtime as possible.

No. Their GPUs have a reputation for driver issues but the CPUs- well they don’t need drivers so there is little to do wrong. Intel simply performs worse at higher power use and higher cost, especially in the HEDT space. Buying an intel makes no sense at this moment unless you have no choice.
You forgot custom liquid cooling loop for both CPU and GPU, which will generally cost like $600 or more. And assembling SFF PC requires a lot of effort.. let alone liquid cooled one.
I think the price make sense for professionals that need HEDT CPU, good single GPU in a small package.
There's no custom loop here, just two AIOs. Yes, they are custom AIOs, but the price difference in production for this is likely near zero (plus the savings from not having fans on them).
Still, the "markup" here is entirely fair IMO. A lot of R&D has gone into this, and the case is clearly a well thought out premium product. It also includes warranty service for the entire PC and not just the parts.
Then factor in time to produce, package, manage, qa, support, and warranty. Maybe OS too. Keep the lights on, taxes, payroll, advertising, insurance, supply chain, etc.
I think I saw a Youtube review of this, and the three DisplayPort connections on the back are actually short extension cables to connect to the GPU hidden inside, but the problem is that these DisplayPort ports degrade the signal just enough that it can't do high frame rates with high resolutions.
I have this machine and it's way more than I need so it performs great. I know you can build one as good but cheaper but I didn't want to go through the effort or take the risk of assembly. It's also completely quiet because I don't push it enough for it to need to hyperventilate. These guys just filed for an IPO! Revenues now at $1.3B and they are profitable.

I think he was calculating the value add from Corsair (enclosure + markup), which was $4500 (MSRP) minus $3000 (components listed), leaving $1500.

My bad, somehow missed the SSD, I'll add ~$350 (varies from $200-450)That reduces the case/cooling/construction to $1200 or so.
