So they ruined almost everything I love about their phones except for the headphone jack. Samsung S20 is ~150 grams like how LG used to be, I just wanted an S20 with a headphone jack (and less cameras) and a lower price from you, LG. I guess their cellphone division really is dead. No pricing even...
Lower screen res than my current V30... Not good. Heavier Notch while everyone else is going hole-punch. I'm sure the price is high if they didn't include it in the announcement. Is it 8k24 like Samsung or 8k30?
I just don't get it. I'd much rather have a higher res/refresh screen. Like I'm going to record 8K video on a 1080 screen?
For an incremental upgrade, is it really that hard to keep the same screen res, skip the second screen BS, add a hole-punch, and increase the battery?
Agreed. V30S is superb. Very Light, fantastic "Balanced Design" and lot of useful features esp no notch. And 1080P on a 6.8" with pentile is a joke. They are fked. This is all because again LG shuffled their mobile head. It always has been happening since V10. And the best was V30 it even had Cinelog. And wonderful UI for Camera.
They even missed the feature I wanted the most, the 90hz. Weird. I just gave my father my phone as his is broken and i am sitting here waiting for a new phone, and there is nothing available this year... where is the $699 flagship to compete with the iPhone that I was expecting? I guess everything is delayed until summer...
Downgraded bs - FHD display on a pentile panel at 6.8" with USB2.0 what the actual fuck is this ?
I have a V30S and it lacks 2 most important things. ESS9218 is great along with massive battery but why cost cutting on essential panel and I/O.
LG is really retarded. I liked their V30 as it has everything that I wished for including that Pro grade Audio recording with Manual controls and DAC and simple bloat free UI. They copied Samsung UI and now downgraded. With that retarded notch. Even moved away from Pogo pins. And what's with that ugly gold color for frame..
where is our S20 with a headphone jack and without the rest of the useless extras for $699? i might even buy a Chinese phone for the first time this year at this rate (so far the A71 from Samsung is WAY more expensive than the A70, over 33 percent more, so I didn't buy that either)
Unless LG publicly states that they will provide speedy updates (security and generational) until at least the end of 2024, stay away from it! LG has amongst the worst track record for lacking support beyond the moment you bought a smartphone from them. I speak from experience, bought an unlocked, not-carrier bound "flagship" phone from them, and received a grand total of 1 security update in 3 years. And that was within 6 months of purchase. So, potential buyer beware!
They need a clean slate launch. Run near bone stock AOSP, change the branding and cut the number of phones so they can actually be updated and cut back development costs.
While the hardware have improved (though still catching up), the speed of software updates on LG phone is one thing I would surely flag up as a deal breaker. Historically, they are extremely slow when it comes to software updates. Generally if you are considering to get an LG phone, it is best you assume that there will be no software updates. There may only be 1 major Android upgrade, and is usually after waiting for many months. In one of my experience with LG G4, it took them a solid 9 months to deliver the upgrade.
My G7 ThinQ has received Android 9 upgrade in August 2019... and that was last security update as well.
LG support was downright rude and dishonest, first telling me that I have the latest update, then telling me that it is Google's fault (somehow) that there are no new security patches... while some versions of G7 ThinQ (mine is for Asiz-Pacific) have received one or more patches since my last one.
Can't see myself getting another LG, regardless of how decent and reasonably priced their hardware might be...
Wow... Great Debut for LG V60 ThinQ 5G with Snapdragon 865 with wonderful features. waiting for it on mobile market regards: https://fmwhatsappapk.xyz/
I have had the v20, v30, V40 & now cup. All have been great phones in their own way. All have done things better in some ways than Samsung & worse in others. In tired of people denigrating LG based on past boot loop issues. Samsung has had their issues in case anyone has forgotten about the note seven battery fire fiasco, a far more dangerous issue than a boot looping phone. LG is doing quite well considering & have made some wise choices with the V60 compared to Samsung. This is not really being marketed as a gaming phone & 120Hz refresh is a real battery hog. The V60 can still play games & can do it longer than others can if using one screen.
The dual screen is a much more reliable option than folding display phones not to mention less expensive. The second screen is of the same quality as the main screen which can be used for multitasking or gaming should counteract the loss of hi refresh rates or screen resolution. Screen resolution to me in unnoticeable between 1440 & 1080 on screens of this size. To be able to offer the second screen of equal quality as main screen at a price below Samsungs cheapest S20 is a solid feat on & of itself. The cameras trade blows in terms of which is better so I consider them of equal quality in spite of not having an optical zoom. Reports have some people liking the V60's zoomed pictures better than the S20's.

I think it would be quite compelling at $600-800. They do not have the display or camera to match Samsung, so beat them on price!A5 - Wednesday, February 26, 2020 - link
The big issue for LG (besides their software) is that the Samsung phones tend to see fairly steep discounts as well.Even if the practical street price of an LG flagship is $700ish, it's pretty easy to get an equivalent Samsung for a similar price.

They should have made - Stereo FF speakers, No notch, 90Hz 1080P would also have been fine.Cost cutting due to Accessory also another display. Plus the Dual Display case removed pogo pins and wasting USB port with some bs connector.

This is why I choose the S10 over the S20 Need a headphone jack.and the 157 gram weight of the phone is perfect. This thing at 218 grams will be heavy.

Very bad. Makes Xperia 1 Mark ii better. As LG doesn't even allow BL unlock.
