NZXT's page for these products lists a bunch of Intel sockets, AM4, and TR4, but not sTRX4, so that's probably your answer.
On the other hand if the cold plate's big enough to physically cover a Threadripper-sized heat spreader, it might still work. I don't think I'd take the chance, though.
lol at least the AIO was setup properly. Half the time I see AIO's in Rig's with Front mounted Rads the have the fans on the side of the rad. And not in front of the Rad blowing air in over it.
I had a Kraken X62 in one build, but I stopped using it because of their terrible software. Why can't they make purpose built control software that does nothing but control your cooler, not requiring an online account, not including everything and the kitchen sink.
The worst part is that you can't even load a pump/fan curve onto the device which it then obeys, without the software it'll just run at some default rate.
Unfortunately, no indication this changed in the new generation.
I have the case pictured in the article and the CAM software is terrible which is what I assume they're using to control AIO. I love the case but I wish I hadn't wasted the money on the model with the fan controller.
Existing customers will be falling all over themselves to buy a new cooler to get that extra 10%! It's a genius bullet point from the marketing department.
Absolutely agree. I bought a 280 (the h110i I think) a few years ago for less than the X53. I want to see if these actually perform well enough to justify the price hike.
yeah I see those cases CONSTANTLY on reddit. I have a feed setup just for tech and its like every 5th post. But I'm not even mad, they always look really good lol.
Please avoid propagating bad marketing claims with in AIO cooler reviews. Three 120mm units do not equal a 360mm unit. Two 120mm units are note equivalent to a 240mm unit.

Just did (again). No mention of trx40. Care to point to the relevant part?1_rick - Wednesday, January 29, 2020 - link
TR4 and sTRX4 have identical cooler mountings, so it's probably down to "is the one you want rated high enough for the chip you want?"p1esk - Thursday, January 30, 2020 - link
Latest threadrippers have much larger surface area to cool. I believe there’s only one AIC currently on the market that supports them.1_rick - Thursday, January 30, 2020 - link
