I want motorola to continue making phones with big batteries, hell I'd love to see POWER versions of all their phones, not just the G7. Especially as the z4 play is nowhere to be found.

Its crazy this hardware becomes a paperweight due to lack of SW support. Look at the Nvidia Shield, its ~5 years old and its getting updates still.

there are not Apple phones. You dont get rstricted from apps like iphones do. Most modern apps will still run on Android 4.4.4 FFS. Your phone will be 10 years old before apps stop supporting it.
That's a dumb argument. No security patches makes it a paperweight. No major OS updates for a flagship or midrange is also terrible, it's part of the expected package.

Security patches come bundled with "feature" patches which often break working features, case in point Windows Photos, they took about 2 years of back and forth deleting functions and changing interactions before settling on this version with functions that matched the app 2 years ago.

Now everything is huge, delicate, lacks ports, and sacrifices battery for features I don't care about, like enormous high res screens, or over the top CPUs, or just being thin...
