Some tiny mistakes... About CPU fréquence on G90T, it's the opposite : 2xA76 at 2.05ghz 6xA55 at 2.00ghz About 2MP sensors, I think it's 1.75micro not 1.075
Fingerprint sensor : yes...you see it clearly on photo
active "noice" cancellation... someone seems to like B-99. However it would be really strange if ANC was available only on the Pro, it's like a default feature for voice calls for generations of smartphones now.
I'm actually really happy with my Xiaomi 9T phone. It's got a really nice OLED screen, it's all screen (no notch), a decent set of cameras, a more than decent CPU that combined with a big battery give me more than 2 days of normal use... For 300€ it was a steal.
you could try buying one from Aliexpress (I buy alot of used computer gear from there prices are great and free shipping) you would be best to confirm that the phone will work on your countries cellphone grid and if you decide to buy a phone from there load the Global ROM (I got my phone from a local supplier so it was already running the global ROM...)
Just wanted to add some more thumbs up for the 9T, and some initial thoughts after using it for a week... as heffeque mentioned there is no in screen front facing camera instead there is a mechanical pop up camera which had two instant reactions " Ooooh" and "how long before it breaks" Battery life has been amazing (4000mAh) Im on day three of moderate usage and still over 20% battery capacity left. 128GB of storage. I think a snapdragon 730 processor? In screen finger print sensor is pretty cool. Camera app is fairly light (although looking though the google app store decent camera apps is a bit of a hot mess at the moment) and the price is I think is what a mid-end smartphone should cost, I just couldnt justify paying 1000 or more local tokens for a S or A branded phone...
I like Xiaomi products and have been recommending their Note to most people around me. Have had positive feedback, even from ex-iUsers (love the battery !).
The megapixel crap has to stop though. They already pulled it with the 48mpx Note 7, which in the end didn't usually take better picture then the 12mpx Note 5 since the SoC can't handle that rez anyway, and often took worse pics because they downgraded the autofocus.
There's little to dislike about the Redmi Note (mic ain't great for Skyping and shoting talkies, no NFC on the non-pro), and a lot to like (cute, solid HW, solid SW, solid battery, SD, jack...)... the whatever-mpx camera is prolly good-not+great, as always. If that's the reason you want that Note, turn around right now.
Yeah. I thought the megapixel wars were over with... Seems they might be back.
I would like to see a comparison between this and other flagship cameras because I would assume that even 20MP shooters in a flagship from say... Samsung would probably resolve better images overall.
They do make good phones, but considering the quantities they sell (at least in my country) means after sales support is pretty poor - the service center hand out tokens for the day in the first hour of their opening and that's it. If you miss it then come back the next day
Very strange phones. What’s the point of a 2mp macro? A higher res camera, cropped, will function just as well, and has the advantage of one less camera. I’d also like to see if this tiny sensing site, hi res camera really is better. So far, all of the high rez smartphone cameras have had slightly better noise and dynamic range characteristics with highly binned, lower res photos, but unacceptable noise and dynamic range restrictions, with slightly higher sharpness, as full Rez. Hardly worth the bother.
Either for distances too close for the standard camera to focus, or to support an AI powered refocus after the fact feature. I'm leaning toward the latter because there's also a 2MP depth camera.
I'm normally against the megapixel wars, but I'm happily surprised Samsung has kept the pixel pitch the same and increased the number of pixels by increasing the size of the sensor! 1/1.7" is much bigger sensor than we've seen in a while. If nothing else, I hope this trend continues and we eventually see the return of the 1" sensor!
How are such small camera modules not diffraction limited, I can’t imagine the photos are very sharp at 1:1. I have a 42mp A7Rm3 and even some of my Zeiss glass can’t keep up.
Note to phone makers. I'd rather settle for a really really excellent 10-12MP sensor than these gimmick ones.
I look back at pics I took with my 2004 spec 3.2MP Nikon and my 2005 8MP Canon DSLR and they still hold up to phone stuff taken today. Not moved all that far forward in some cases.
They made the sensor fairly big, massive for a (normal) smart phone so I cautiously optimistic that it will be good. Also I don't follow the smart phone space much but those prices even for china seem really good. A metal body with Gorilla Glass 5, close to top of the line SOC with a headphone port and MicroSD slot along with 6GB LPDDR4X for under $200 seems hard to beat.
Buy why don't they include all the LTE bands like OnePlus ? They already know people buy their phones from all over the world through Aliexpress and Gearbest.
And that market can be even more huge with all the LTE bands included.
They can really earn money by not officially launching in Americas but still reaping the benifits.
Thats what some chinese brands like Umidigi are doing.
But when you compare that with the extra sales you are going to get, and the strong marketing that can be fueled by saying "World's Global Phone", that would definitely cover the extra costs.
Like I am in Canada and would buy this phone in heartbeat for me and my wife if it had all the Canadian LTE bands.

There's a typo in the article:"...the Redmi Note 8 Pro supports 4G/LTE: up to 600 Mbps downloads and up to 150 Mbps downloads"
Should probably be "...the Redmi Note 8 Pro supports 4G/LTE: up to 600 Mbps downloads and up to 150 Mbps uploads" instead.
