Soldered 4-8GB of RAM! I'm going to have to be strapped down because I'm so excited about the generous allotment of upgrade incapable memory Dell is offering in their systems these days. I mean really, my crappy old Latitude e4310 with its 1st gen i5 shipped with 4GB in 2011 and currently has 8GB.
The Vostro line looks exactly like the Inspiron line. R.I.P. upgradeable ram slots. I hate this soldered down ram. And only 2 usb ports? Laptops keep getting worse in terms of features.
I agree. I mean, this laptop is for small business and road warriors, as per articles, but only 1 type c and 1 type a? Doesn't road warriors need as much connection as possible? Or Dell have a different definition of road warriors (as armchair potatoes warriors) that I'm not currently aware of?
I do love how Intel's "10th Gen" is either the umpteenth rehash of a four year old design (to put it politely) or the rare-as-hen's-teeth current Ice Lake design. Caveat Emptor!
Intel really messed up the 8th gen with a bunch of code names, Coffee Lake, Amber Lake, and I think Kaby Lake-R. Looks like they are messing with the 10th gen as well with Ice Lake and Comet Lake. They probably will put another lake in their down the line. Through the 7th gen, it was neat, one codename to one Nth Gen, and now it is a mixed up mess.
I have the Whiskey Lake version (5390) of this laptop. Terrific laptop for the price, comparable to the XPS 13 in all of the most important ways. I'm sad I wasn't able to configure mine with the fingerprint scanner or 52Wh battery, but otherwise I'm happy with the product.

Please be more clear on what 10th gen CPU it's actually using, as you yourselves have complained about in Intel's marketing.drexnx - Wednesday, August 21, 2019 - link

Yes, so obviously it's known to the writer. So why skip it in both the title and the text?philehidiot - Wednesday, August 21, 2019 - link
We have a phrase where I come from which applies nicely to Intel product nomenclature."Clear as muck".
Muck being manure... or horse shit as it's otherwise known.
