Cute how Intel boards for quadcore chips were given the hybrid treatment by ASUS and Gigabyte on the Intel side but tiny fans are innovative for AMD buyers.
This started with the end of the AM3+ era, where ASUS and others decided to supplement rainbow LEDs and plastic shrouds with cruddy little fans.
Expecting most people to use a custom loop with an SFF build is unreasonable. I've done it and it's a huge pain in the ass. Plus they're probably expecting people to throw 12-16 core cpus in here.
Anand please figure out the VRM power phase layout! Very important and loved your inclusion with the z390 motherboard breakdown last fall. Some manf. are very tight lipped about their layout and it seems to be mattering more and more the more advanced processors get for delivery of consistent frames and good OCs.
Without being able to take the heat sink off, we can't do an analysis on the power delivery. End of the day, only a tiny fraction of users will need the power delivery to its capacity.
Given the 2 dimm slot config it may easily prove to be a great memory overclocking board but with an unknown VRM and power phase one may not invest in it.
Got my hopes up thinking this was actually mini-ITX. I don't think that the mini-DTX size boards will fit in some of the smaller two compartment SFF cases like the Dan Case A4-SFX. Hopefully there will be a true mini-ITX X570 board at some point. May not be possible with the extra heatsinks for the chipset though.
There seems to be a real shift away from MATX in favor of ITX. I wish they would bring out a MATX Crosshair variant for people like me who value the 4 RAM slots for my professional work, but still want to keep case sizes as small as possible.
The issue, IMO, is mATX cases generally aren't all that small. ITX cases are quite small. There is no mATX case approaching the space efficiency of a DAN A4 or even a NCASE M1 (which are ITX cases, but imagine something like that scaled up for mATX).
