I hope they have a better reason for the model names in the lineup going from Arabic numerals (Gaming 4, Gaming 4S, Gaming 6, Gaming 7, Gaming 9) to Roman numerals (Gaming X) for this one than copying (consciously or subconsciously) the iPhone lineup, because boy it doesn't seem any less silly here.
It's nice to see more products roll out with 2.5 GbE built in. Especially since most cables out in the wild currently ie CAT5e already support the faster standard.
Yes, but how many switches support it unless it's multiplied across two ports? (which you could do with a dual-gig NIC that's LAGGed to a switch?)
More importantly, who has that kind of Internet bandwidth?
And finally, it's Realtek --I'd take a 1Gbps Intel NIC over a 2.5Gb Realtek. When Intel does this, maybe I'll be interested. However, there's a lot of hurdles to overcome.
