Clearly I'm not the target market for this, but for over the top enthusiast builds I think I'd just buy older enterprise grade stuff off eBay. I know LGA2011 is ancient, but I saw a quad Xeon E5-4640 Supermicro 4U/24 bay system with 256GB of RAM for under $1600 the other day. I'd have a hard time paying at least 5x that amount for a full build with some high end consumer grade gear in the mix.
%90 of all content on anandtech now is not a target market for its viewers. They put up press releases on enterprise stuff all the time...then random consumer item.
4x8pin power plus 2x6 pin plus ATX power, assuming you want to add any other cards (a quadro and three tesla cards, after all its not like money is an issue if you can afford to swim in this pool) not to mention adding a cheeky overclock to the CPU (while keeping a fire extinguisher at hands reach) I would love to see what the power consumption on an 8170 build is 🥵

What versions of the Gold 6138? Of particular note is that the 6138P has an on-package FPGA.The socket also has the open flange to support the 6138F which include on-package 100 Gbit Omnipath fabric.

Funny how people think that the MacPro isn't worth $6000, when a inferior motherboard here costs $2000 and the CPU easily $1000+
