    That GPU is going to make it expensive and given the cost, the storage configuration doesn't make a lot of sense. A single 1TB SSD would have probably offered a better solution as SSD prices are declining and wouldn't have put much of a dent in the MSRP. That hinge...hmmmm...

    Would this 2080 be directly comparable to a desktop 2080 part?
    Also, isn't 1080p beneath this GPU class?

    Not when you want 144 frames per second for that 144hz display.

    144Hz at 1080p is easily achievable by a 1070 or 1080 though; a 2080 (which is 1080ti performance) is definitely an overkill for its resolution.
