Yup, nothing makes a home more smarterer than stuffing it with web-connected cameras, microphones, and sensors that report data to a phone using an operating system designed to harvest data. Yet it's so very worth it to not have to adjust the thermostat a mere five paces away on the wall or, heaven forbid, get up to operate a light switch. Being human must mean being terminally stupid while lathered in a buttery coating of laziness.
