The super Rez zoom produces a zoom up to 1.5 times magnification. It’s better than a simple interpolation, but worse than having two lenses, where the two can be blended together to produce a continuous 2:1 zoom that’s much sharper.
The night feature is done after the photo is taken, not during, and can’t be adjusted. It takes a bit of time.
If you have two lenses (in fact two cameras - lenses plus sensors plus image stabilization plus ...), you can apply the super Rez zoom to the telephoto camera in order to bring an additional "computational 3x" zoom mode instead of the physical 1x (normal camera) and 2x (tele camera). Most current flagship phones have better cameras than my 10 years old Nikon D5100 - but none has a 450mm equivalent telephoto module.
This is intended for single camera phones. It’s not clear if it works on two camera models. It’s also not the only company using more sophisticated modeling for sharper zoom beyond the longest lens.
