Lisa announced this event during the earnings call last week... They will give out information on Zen 2 (but probably not launch it. That'll be Computex), and launch Vega 7nm. Perhaps something on the Raven Ridge refresh as well. I think it will be held with VMWare in Barcelona.

I for one would really like an announcement along with release, instead of release 6 months from now.

I'm thankful for the long delay before the release. Maybe this time Intel will have long enough to create a well-planned response, unlike the hurried one last time. I ended up with a Core i9 that still blue screens once every couple weeks even after BIOS upgrades and a motherboard replacement.

If they say >10% ipc improvement and 5gzh clocks Intel will be in panic kose again. They say (take with salt) 15% ipc improvement over zen+
That would be impressive for sure but i doubt that.
I would be happy to see parity even. Intel has been too dog too long. Competition is good for us.

Since it's mainly EPYC they're focused on for the moment it's 15% IPC gain over the original Zen for the EPYC 2. That's about 12-13% gain over Zen+. And since they'll mainly be talking EPYC 2 clock speeds will probably not be incredible. The Ryzen 3000 series information we'll probably see at CES instead.

The event was announced during AMD's Q3 results call but the press can't be bothered to pay attention.
