for 14 inch 1080p is as high as you should go. That is what makes the 14 inch the perfect screen size for laptops. 13 inch you will need dpi scaling even at 1080p and at 15.6 inch 1080p feels a bit low res but cannot go 2k or 1.5 k either without DPI scaling.
This is a ridiculous and irresponsible thing to assert. Personally I cannot look at machines like the Carbon and X1 Tablet and X1 Yoga because they their screen resolutions are comparably pathetically low; I need as much resolution as possible so I can get as much screen real estate as possible. Just because you like everything big on your screen does not mean that others cannot appreciate fine details and a wide canvas of a high resolution screen. Lenovo got the screen resolution right with the Yoga 2 Pro, and the screens that have followed that tradition; if you want a 1080p screen for yourself then by all means, but do not relegate others to suffer with your low-resolution displays.
1080p is garbage and 4k needs at least mx150 to be usable. where are <= 13" laptops with 4k, dgpu, and full keyboard (pgup/down/home keys on right side)
"Garbage" that increases battery life by 5 hours. "Garbage" that doesn't require scaling on a tiny laptop screen.
What's with the gatekeeping? What do you gain by trashing sensible options that don't even affect you, and calling for nonsensical desktop specs on a machine that was never meant to be one's only computer?
1080p on anything up to 15" is percfectly acceptable, don't be daft. 4K on a 13" laptop is entirely unnecessary. You'd need to run it at 200% scaling anyhow (or more), which brings usable resolution right back down to 1080p. It might be marginally sharper, but you wouldn't notice outside of the dramatically reduced battery life.
With k4 movies bdrip or bdremux files about 50gb will be down to 5h this pc. I have ultrabook convertible. battery life to 11h. 2k movies with fhd lcd down to 7.5h with wqhd lcd down to 4,5h. I replaced lcd panels. With uhd lcd must be better battery . For exp: FHD lcd 50wh with UHD lcd 80wh
lets see if there will be any ryzen mobile updates in these new chassis. playing games at 50% render resolution at 720p on intel graphics has been painful -- maybe with some vega juice in there i can do 75% render resolution.

He doesn't mean the name of the product, he means the literal headline of this article. The "C" is clearly in a different font and looks very odd.HStewart - Wednesday, September 5, 2018 - link
Maybe it is the "new CNC-machined aluminum enclosure" mention in article - Lenovo website has nothing on it - it could be typo error.GreenReaper - Wednesday, September 5, 2018 - link

I prefer 1080p screens on anything less than 15''piroroadkill - Thursday, September 6, 2018 - link
Hahaha, the resolution treadmill!! No, 1366×768 was shit. 1920×1080 is perfectly acceptable, I absolutely HATE scaling on Windows.MrSpadge - Thursday, September 6, 2018 - link
With 1080p the battery lasts 50% longer. Sure, noone wants this garbage!kaidenshi - Thursday, September 6, 2018 - link

Thank goodness your ignorant waffle is being put down here.If you like 4k, great, go for it. You can buy a model with a 4k display. Just don't tell us what we want.

The problem is that most of the time you have the 1080p option and no 4K option. This is killing many of us; good that it's a happystance for you.hanselltc - Thursday, September 6, 2018 - link
