Is the RAM configured for dual-channel operation? I'm pretty sure the platform and CPU support it, but low cost systems like these sometimes rely on a single channel to the detriment of the iGPU's performance.
Thanks for bringing that to our attention. The press release and the spec sheet we were supplied said DDR3L. Apparently, that was a mistake, we've fixed the story.
Man these look so good... My wife's next computer will be something in this small NUC style form factor. Especially with the UHD graphics chips coming out, it is plenty for office, movies, and the occasional MMO (or minecraft).

It probably comes with a single 4GB SO-DIMM stick in it, so you could just open it up and put in another stick in to enable dual-channel.PeachNCream - Thursday, August 2, 2018 - link
Thanks! I completely missed the SODIMM slots in the article and got it in my head that the RAM was soldered to the motherboard.someotheruser - Thursday, August 2, 2018 - link
