Nickel plated copper is fine. I asked this the BeQuiet! support and they confirmed it.

If the base really is nickel-plated copper (as one would hope it should be!!) then why on earth does this article suggest it's made of aluminium? Poor journalism.

Poor journalism is what AT does recently, just look at the Intel 28 core "5GHz" article.

Any words on weight for this beast? I suspect they went all-aluminum mostly to keep the weight under at least some control.

Maybe it just this picture - these fans look so huge they cool a house.

Okay, not really answering my own question about weight, but this thing is huge. I found that this image from their website puts the size into some perspective - look at that MoBo being dwarfed by the heatsink: https://www.bequiet.com/en/cpucooler/1378
