Have a few questions about it that probably won't be answered till reviews, but...
Is the display laminated? Using the pencil without lamination would probably feel weird Is the antireflective coating back? TrueTone? What is the touch and pencil sample rate? Will the Crayon share the same Pencil sample rates/is it active/what does it miss out on for the price?
Time will tell I suppose. If they snuck in a laminated screen at the same 329 that would be sweet.
Oh, me too!!! I hope this device really helps students to study better than they did. If you still don't have that digital helper you can use https://pro-papers.com/ for getting help with esaay writing!
Alas, would have been a nice bonus. The Pencil may feel more disconnected from content on it but I suppose since this is aimed squarely at cost sensitive schools.
Wonder if it at least samples the pencil at the full 240hz of the OG iPad Pro, and touch at 120, which they did without ProMotion.
I hate to quibble about headlines, but this one really makes it sound like the iPad with Pencil is $299 for students. "New iPad with Pencil Support: $299 for Students" would be more accurate.
The 7 Plus's A10 has 3GB, but 2GB is highly probable. Which I guess is fine for the type of multi-tasking people will do on iOS 11, at most will probably be a Safari + YouTube 1/3 split. Most stressing I've done on my iPad 2017 is play F/GO with a hovering YouTube app.
I am curious what the resolution of Apple Pencil is on this device. I have a Wacom Intious Pro that has resolution 8192.
I think this is a very smart idea for Apple, Education has always been one of Apple strong points - in my opinion Chromebook is both trying to be a low end Apple and PC wanna bee.
Pretty much what I expected: a 1-up spec bump + Pencil support with the same body as 2017's. Though it makes me wonder if the Pencil support is actually a hardware thing... If it's software, is it not something an A9 can handle?
Disappointed that there isn't a new Mini though. I just want a Mini + laminated display + Pencil support running an A11. Though if they did release a new Mini alongside with the iPad 2018, it'll be an A10 as well considering the A11 is technically still their flagship, non-X, SoC. Hopefully my wish will come true during the fall.
The title of this post implies that schools can get the new iPad with the pencil for $299, which is not accurate-- the pencil costs an extra $89. Suggest changing it.
Quad speakers, laminated screen, antireflective coating, X series SoC, double the RAM, 120Hz/ProMotion, better cameras (ARkit if anything if you don’t care about pictures on a tablet), larger screen, there’s still actually a lot to step up to the Pro for…But I think the price should probably updated to reflect the new capabilities of iPad Budget.
dont know many students willing to drop close of $500 on this device plus pencil plus some decent case. Apple is out of touch with reality....but coming from a company that released a $1k smartphone not that long ago, it doesn't shock me.
The addition of Pencil is great, but I am concerned about what it would do to the display of the Mini. I am reading some reviews from here - https://ios12guide.com/
Great post!!! I went through post and it's good to hear that student can use iPad with pencil support at an affordable price. thanks for sharing a great article. Personally, I am using iPad and recently I got an error iTunes Sync Error 54 then I went through https://www.ipadsupportnumber.com/blog/fix-itunes-... and they helped me a lot to fix my all issues.
This is a great discount for students, I think they will need this gadget for the university, I also found an excellent service https://papersowl.com/conclusion-generator that helps to form conclusions for the articles, I think this is a very useful program.
Thanks for a detailed instruction.I will use it once I need to post on https://elitewritings.com/. By the way, I need to find a guide how to write an essay. I am open to your suggestions.
Textbooks are heavy. Lockers are small. (using iPads in the classroom can help!) Many students carry fully-loaded backpacks throughout the school day. Doctors are concerned. The health implications are many. Damage to muscles and joints. Long-term back, neck and shoulder pain. Lasting posture problems. Even difficulty concentrating in school. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that backpacks weigh no more than 10-20% of a student’s weight. Most kids today carry far more. Among the advice to address the problem is buying an extra set of textbooks to keep at home. Digital devices that connect to a world of textbooks and more, are an outstanding option. Of these, iPads are the smallest and most mobile.

Amount of RAM?tipoo - Tuesday, March 27, 2018 - link
I'd bet on 2GB. It's pretty rare the same SoC (A10 here) gets variable RAM quantities, apart from cut down ones like the A10X Apple TV with 3GB.Spectrophobic - Tuesday, March 27, 2018 - link

Oh right, forgot that. They did say though it was mostly to support the dual camera effects.HStewart - Tuesday, March 27, 2018 - link

How does the A10 (not A10X) compare to the A9X?Will this new cheap iPad with A10 and (presumably) 2GB RAM be faster than the first-gen iPad Pro 12.9" with A9X and 4GB?
