Is anyone testing these claims of dpi/hz on these products?
  • limitedaccess - Saturday, October 7, 2017 - link

None of the more mainstream sites test mice to that level of depths. If you go over to the overclock.net mice subforums though you'll see users doing more detailed testing for mice.

In terms of high DPI though very few performance oriented players actually use DPI that high. So testing at those levels is often just academic.

The dpi in software is almost always higher then the native resolution of the sensor, logitech has admitted as much: https://youtu.be/lc7JVjcPzL0?t=2m

Who uses such extreme DPIs (8000!)? Even with a 4K monitor, that is still rather extreme in my opinion.
  • BedfordTim - Saturday, October 7, 2017 - link

I couldn't find any research on this but the resolution equates to about 0.003mm which I would assume to be way beyond what my hand can achieve.

I'm using this mouse. I mainly care about ergonmoics. Had 3 wonderful Sensei Raw mice that were the most comfortable ever, but they all broke, and the finish was prone to looking aweful after mild use.

Very happy with the G203 for the last 6 months (more comfortable than the high G403).
  • maximumGPU - Saturday, October 7, 2017 - link

Didn't find the 403 comfortable either. Coming from a mionix naos 7000
  • Tehort - Saturday, October 7, 2017 - link

    Thats almost what I did.
    Xai -> Sensei -> Kinzu-> Sensei Raw -> G203.

Absolutely love the durability and buttons of the g203.
Sensei 310 seems like a really good choice, but, I've had enough of Steelseries durability issues.
The G203 seems so much more durable than anything SS, and way cheaper too.

    Yeah Microsoft -> Sensei x 3 -> G403 -> broken Corsair -> G203 best :)

Looks liks the day I bought it. Their matching keyboard is also quite nice. Logitech seems to be back to making decent stuff after a few years of garbage. Simple quality.
  • Hurr Durr - Saturday, October 7, 2017 - link

What keyboard is that? Pro, G613 or G810? 910 looks like an abomination.
  • alistair.brogan - Sunday, October 8, 2017 - link

I meant just the simple G213 Prodigy Keyboard (not mechanical) for 50 dollars. I was tortured by a roommate using mechanical keyboards, they are forbidden in the home ;)
  • Hurr Durr - Sunday, October 8, 2017 - link

I hate the loud click myself, but am willing to try G413 as quite a few people have told me it`s on par with usual membrane keyboards in terms of sound.

I hope this is true. Logitech has had a really bad run of making some real shit for the better part of the last decade. Almost every Logitech product I've owned has broken. Especially speakers, headphones, and keyboards.

10 years ago they made some amazing products, the G15 (although not entirely reliable -- backlight failed pretty quick) G27 racing wheel (the first economical wheel with a gated 6-speed shifter) and of course the DiNovo Edge keyboard, which still stands as the best media center keyboard ever made. If only it were appropriately updated to 2017 technology (backlighting, multitouch, Bluetooth 4.0)

I'd rank Steelseries and Logitech about the same durability wise (both are pretty bad, but in different ways) but neither is as bad as Razor. That said, I'd take a Sensei (pretty much any model, they're all good) over a G203.

The Sensei Raw is also cheaper than any equivalent G-series mouse, and ironically, is also the most reliable Sensei model. If you need an FPS mouse, it's among the best for the money.
  • Tehort - Sunday, October 8, 2017 - link

G203 coster like 1/3 of a Sensei here where I live, so that's a rip off.
Anyways, I really like both, but the G203 seems way more durable, specially the buttons.

The whole body buttons like the ones on Sensei, they just get old and inconsistent over time.
Not to mention the side rubber, they`re definitely an extra, but they do wear off eventually, for sure.

This piece of news is about three weeks late and is hardly interesting to anyone except G102/203 users like me.

Strangest comment ever but shows a touching concern for your fellow man. You ARE interested, but yet you worry about people like me who did not have the mouse like you.

Very noble of you kind sir.

But so you know, I clicked an read anyway, but I appreciate your concern for my boredom!

I`ll be sure to notify you when ASUS gets out a BIOS update for my motherboard.
  • lokhor - Sunday, October 8, 2017 - link

I'm still using an old MX518
  • Impulses - Monday, October 9, 2017 - link

And here I thought my G500 was old school by now...

Firmware update for a mouse - WTF? What next, will it be downloading its configuration from a Cloud server before you can use it?
  • Zizy - Monday, October 9, 2017 - link

Razer has you covered here :D
  • versesuvius - Sunday, October 8, 2017 - link

This changes everything. It is a game changer. One is at a loss for words to describe this event. Already my mouse feels like a cat and the future seems more precise.
  • krazyfrog - Monday, October 9, 2017 - link

Couple of issues with this post. Firstly, this update came out weeks ago. Second, even the G102 got the update, so the claim that it's only for the G203 is patently wrong.
  • Hurr Durr - Monday, October 9, 2017 - link

G102 is G203. Different model numbers for different markets.
  • krazyfrog - Tuesday, October 10, 2017 - link

That's what I thought, which makes this post even more wrong.
