CPU performance is irrelevant for mining. As are PCI lanes, because the transfers between RAM and VRAM and negligible. Miners want the cheapest possible system so they can get easy returns. The mobo and cpu are there just to get the system to work.
You cannot fit 60 PCIe (even if they are by x1) connectors on a single board, unless it's some proprietary massive board. Even then it would cost massively more than this and the TR4 socket does not have any low power CPUs like LGA1151 does, most miners use Celerons or Pentiums because you don't need a good CPU at all for most cryptocurrencies.
ASUS (among others, of course) has the resources and expertise to design, manufacture and assemble its own mining operations, and yet it doesn't. That says a lot.
No one is making a personal attack against your hobby, Please don't jump to defend yourself when nobody here called you out specifically about it. I doubt anyone posting comments here knows or cares about what you do in the privacy of your own home when we can't see what you're up to. We're just making an observation about where the bulk of the wealth resides. That doesn't mean we're looking down our noses at the people who earn less than the hardware companies because they're buying equipment and paying for electricity to mine. If it's something you do and have fun with, go do it and stop worrying about what faceless people in a comments box think. The only reason you'd rush to attack is if you feel insecure about what you're doing or have lurking doubts that trouble you in the back of your mind. If that's the case, instead of getting offended, take a rational look at your expenses and invested time to determine if what you do is really worth the effort or if filling that time with a more profitable form of employment would be a more rewarding investment.
But why include onboard audio? I can't imagine a specialty board like this needing onboard audio, and you could reduce BOM a little by not including the hardware. I'm sure miners wouldn't care if the audio was missing, so ASUS could sell for the same amount and maximize profits. Just don't get the insistence on including audio on everything.
Mounting arrangements for the GPUs connected to those cables vary greatly based on what the miner has available or how much that person is willing to spend.
It may very well be cheaper to include the port then to change the design of the rear io not to include it. This is also the reason why cheaper motherboards sometimes include some really old ports.
Presumably that's supposed to be a lower 'ROI time'? A larger return on investment is better than a smaller return on investment. You can get the lowest ROI by using money for your fireplace.
is the problem of driver on windows only or the limitation also on linux ubuntu ?? I mean if I started mining on this board in linux OS with AMD rx 570 what is the maximum number of cards of this model can be used ??

Pssst! *1 x PCIe x1 to 3 x PCIe x1 splitter cards* 'Nuff said.BrokenCrayons - Tuesday, August 22, 2017 - link
Another case where the person selling shovels is the one that actually ends up wealthy as a consequence of the gold rush.Santoval - Tuesday, August 22, 2017 - link
Normally yes. Unless the "shovel" buyers manage to sell their "gold" in time.boozed - Tuesday, August 22, 2017 - link

Cool - 'we' need more naysayers like you lot. Please keep discouraging others from mining, so my difficulity rate goes down.BrokenCrayons - Thursday, August 24, 2017 - link

Hilarious - I'm making cash hand over fist IN EMPLOYMENT, mining is a hobby, and a profitable one too.Meanwhile I'm off to build more rigs. Take from that whatever you will.

^ This.Drop ALL unecessary options. LAN, video, USB. Finished.
I see the last crypto board was selling for 250GBP - no thanks. I'll be watching this board, expecting the same.

Wow, I have an older Asus workstation board (P7F7E-WS) which had 7 slots, and I thought that was too many.sparkuss - Tuesday, August 22, 2017 - link
Okay I know little about mining. So all the GFX cards are in another separate enclosure or back-plane? And connecting with PCIE jumpers?BrokenCrayons - Tuesday, August 22, 2017 - link
Yes, that's exactly the case. GPUs will be connected to the motherboard via ribbon cables like these:https://www.amazon.com/Tenext-Quality-PCI-E-Extend...
Mounting arrangements for the GPUs connected to those cables vary greatly based on what the miner has available or how much that person is willing to spend.

PS/2 ports: because when time is quite literally money, you want a port that requires a system reboot for a device change.qlum - Tuesday, August 22, 2017 - link

It does? I know that is how it is SUPPOSED to be done, but I am pretty sure I've hot-swapped PS/2 keyboards and mice before.jimjamjamie - Wednesday, August 23, 2017 - link
