Yeah, it looks that way. You can't fault them for having no sense of humor.

On another note, I'm happy to see a few CF benchmarks on AT. Thanks for doing that!

    MLC or TLC ???

Several years ago I noticed that Sandisk MLC CF cards with higher speed ratings performed worse than Transcend SLC cards with lower ratings

I do remember that when used as a boot drive, the SLC Transcend cards could boot to Windows in 12 seconds on a 1st gen Atom Computer

If I recall correctly, the MLC Sandisk's best boot times were over 16 seconds

Once in Windows, the Transcend was still faster in random access but both were basically unusable for getting anything done

    So I was just wondering.....

Are these MLC or TLC and do the current crop of MLC cards still have better random access times "in actual use" even if they are spec'd the same as TLC cards?

Just curious, I would never use CF cards these days, cost/GB is horrible and are way too slow and proprietary (compared to SD cards)

Based on the consistency of the writes, I am willing to bet that this is using MLC flash. But, vendors are usually not interested in disclosing that - which is why we avoided mentioning it, other than do practical testing and present those results.
