    Read that as Cletus.

Any mention of Freesync support? Or is that a different hardware component?

Right hardware component, but no mention of Freesync support. Sorry.

Variable Refresh Rate was listed as a feature in the previous DP650, and the slide suggests that made its way into Cletus.

Mobile devices with PSR have already had support for this for years. Besides it's more of a DDIC feature than something on the DP.

I have a recollection of rumblings regarding arm outreach and upstream. No idea of its current status.
I can say that the units that make up this display processor map very well to kms.
drm_framebuffer are dma'd into the pipeline
    the layers unit handles drm_plane
the composition unit is a drm_crtc instance
    the output unit is drm_encoder (and/or drm_bridge)

Interesting. I keep learning of new special hardware I was clueless about thanks to those types of news :)
To put it into perspective: what device uses the mali DP650 nowadays? Is it automatically included as a part of the G71 or something? I tried to look it up but cannot find any info.
