I have a recollection of rumblings regarding arm outreach and upstream. No idea of its current status. I can say that the units that make up this display processor map very well to kms. drm_framebuffer are dma'd into the pipeline the layers unit handles drm_plane the composition unit is a drm_crtc instance the output unit is drm_encoder (and/or drm_bridge)
Interesting. I keep learning of new special hardware I was clueless about thanks to those types of news :) To put it into perspective: what device uses the mali DP650 nowadays? Is it automatically included as a part of the G71 or something? I tried to look it up but cannot find any info.
