Yeah, I totally agree with you. If you're building a new box for any heavy or power use, 2x16GB is a much more forward looking configuration. There'll still be a lot of budget constrained builds with less memory, but its always a good idea to get more RAM than you need right now.
Products that lack Zen are a no go this year , Corsair totally missed this boat.
On a more serious note do wonder about their future. They have a reputation of poor value at this point and they don't lead in any areas anymore. In cases, DRAM, SSD,keyboards and even PSUs they are losing ground.
I almost bought a pair of the Vengeance LEDs in White a month ago. I don't really want a bunch of Red lights flashing at me, but I don't mind some white LEDs giving some illumination to the rest of my parts. But allegedly according to most of the reviews I could find, the only option was a "breathing" light option instead of static illumination. Any idea if that has changed with these?
I just installed a set of white Vengeance sticks last night. If you install the Corsair Link software you can change it from Breathing to Static. They look awesome.
I'm disappointed that there isn't a RGB SODIMM kit yet. As I've mentioned before, that'd be a great way to justify using a laptop without its RAM door or bottom panel attached (or a reason to use it with the keyboard removed it memory slots are on the top of the chassis) so the RGB glow is cast on the surface of the desk/table/etc the laptop is sitting on which will make it go faster because it would appear to be levitating on a pillow of Corsair Vengeance SODIMM light.
Dinosaurs ruled the earth for hundreds of millions of years before becoming extinct. 2x16 kits are certainly not prevalent, so I'm unable to figure out what exactly your analogy was supposed to mean.

I was really worried that we didn't have enough rgb-lit products on the market, but corsair has met my concerns.r3loaded - Wednesday, March 29, 2017 - link

I couldn't care less about the LEDs but the first vendor to provide a reasonably priced DDR4-3200 CL15 16GB x 2 kit is taking my money.Lolimaster - Wednesday, March 29, 2017 - link
You have to travel back 6 months ago, 2x16 3200 for less than $180.fanofanand - Monday, April 3, 2017 - link
Please tell me where, I searched Amazon, Newegg, and MicroCenter, none of them carry what you claim has been available for 6 months.Lolimaster - Wednesday, March 29, 2017 - link
Now pretty much everyone is building 2x8GB for their pc's and I think for newer games+some productivity/browsing is not enough for the safe side.BrokenCrayons - Thursday, March 30, 2017 - link

That would look good. I don't know if I would buy it, but it would look goodHollyDOL - Wednesday, March 29, 2017 - link
Can you turn off that 'red light area' :p ? Seems like in a couple of years there won't be high-perf components without LED circus at all. Sadly...Lolimaster - Wednesday, March 29, 2017 - link
It's funny how 2x16GB are basically dinosaurs. Gotta hate the smartphone market.fanofanand - Monday, April 3, 2017 - link

I'd be interested to know how these communicate to software over the DIMM slots.
