Ceramic is cool but brittle af.

I miss the days of the removable back cover, battery, and microSD slot :(

Apple is making some of their watch bodies out of Ceramic, so many Xiaomi stole their IP to make durable ceramics (Asia invented Ceramics in all honesty)

**so maybe Xiaomi stole...*not so many

Cool, now where can I buy a Mi TV 4? Oh... Right... Only in China.
I do have a Mi 5s, though, which is a fantastic phone. Had it smuggled from China to Europe without import taxes. A TV might be a bit harder to import. Also it wouldn't support any European broadcasts anyways. Why do they keep showing off their products in markets they don't sell them in?
"Looky here, we have all these great, aggressively priced products, but you won't be able to purchase them!"

Gotta get the word out and interest up to bring it in...

    and?

that is what it is like with most of CES products for the rest of the world.

Oh cool laptop. Bugger, US only until basically 2019.. excellent.

So, the TV doesn't have HDR?
  • serendip - Friday, January 6, 2017 - link

So Xiaomi is using what the CIA uses in downtown Baghdad? Blocking cellular signals and all that. Sorry, been watching Miami Vice too often. That TV looks gorgeous with barely any bezel, like a giant Mi Mix. Xiaomi just might be able to pull of an IoT range of home products.

If you scaled up that robot gundam/panzerzwei/mechwarrior thing, would it still work? Maybe 20 metres tall? Must be self-balancing of course, but adding an active tail for maneuverability would be cool ;-)

Also, no MiPad 3? With an X1 could've been a Ninny Switch analogue or better....

That Mix is a fine-looking phone. About time we got to all-display fronts. Google, with your ridiculous blank top and bottom borders on the Pixel, take note!

Didthey steal the design for the new segway or is it just me? I saw a Segway at Sams the other day, that looked just like their "ripoff"??
  • ckbryant - Sunday, January 8, 2017 - link

From what I looked up that Segway looking product, will NEVER be introduced into Europe or US Markets due to patents on the design and functionality (seeing as it's almost exact same product as their new one)

bezel-less phones scare me, what happens if you drop it?
  • MrSpadge - Tuesday, January 10, 2017 - link

It is "almost bezel-less", so there's still something else at the edge. Besides, a bezel alone doesn't offer enough protection in case of dropping the phone, you'd need some beefier protection anyay. 1 mm of rubber extending above the screen take care of most of the impacts and would suffice for an "almost bezel-less" phone as well.
  • marcolorenzo - Wednesday, January 11, 2017 - link

If you look closer instead of buying into the marketing hype, it is not "bezel-less". On the left, bottom and right sides, there is as much bezel as just about any phone out there. They just reduced the top bezel to the size of the side bezels. So the effect will be just the same as any other phone when you drop it.

I don't know...I like the Mi Mix, but wouldn't it have made more sense to stick the actual display to the bottom and put the camera at the top? It would've still been bezel-less at the bottom, providing software-based buttons to browse your way through the OS, all without making it awkward to hold your phone to your face just so you can Skype.
I haven't used the phone, but I can only assume the experience. (unless the front-facing camera has wide-focus lens?)
  • 3ogdy - Tuesday, January 10, 2017 - link

    wide angle lens*
  • MrSpadge - Tuesday, January 10, 2017 - link

Your suggestion would make navigating the UI with your fingers harder, as they'd always need to reach down further. I suspect for voice calls you can simply flip the phone around and let the orientation sensor tell the OS to adjust.
  • marcolorenzo - Wednesday, January 11, 2017 - link

As MrSpadge said, it would make navigation more difficult but also, what's so awkward about flipping the phone upside down when you make a Skype call?

Yes Mi tv is very cool and amazing tv with all the specification. But it doesn't have the upgrading feature like phone.
Yes we have a Tv called Ridaex which is having the feature of both upgrading Hardware and software.
Instead of buying a tv we can upgrade the same Tv.
