Well that old magnus en was the same barebone for gtx1060,gtx1070 and RX480. Barebone for gtx1080 was different and watercooled. I would expect to see EN1060k and maybe ERX480k version of it. But what I find interesting zbox MAGNUS ERX480 has vanished on their site. So is it canned?
So, it looks like the Realtek Ethernet ports are not a great choice for Linux, but the Intel WiFi is? Wonder how much that MI572 is gonna turn out costing.
Realtek is like a hit and miss, it might work out-of-the box or not. Most common problem for it that kernel is loading wrong driver. For intel you need firmware, which should be included on your distribution. But again it should work out-of-the box with generic drivers, but for full speed that restricted firmware will be needed. Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 is supported from kernel 4.6 and up.
Thanks for the clarification. I'm currently in an environment where I'm using Wi-Fi, but I would prefer to retain the option of using a wired connection. Then again, I don't want to go with the one with the Intel NIC on account of deeply distrusting vPro/IME. :/
