hmmm how viable of a Surface Pro alternate is this? I didn't look at the previous Miix much at all. I'm curious if it offers a comparable experience. The key is the pen. Ive been looking to upgrade my Surface Pro for a while now.
The experience should be relatively identical, but a bit faster and more power efficient (less heat? dunno). The pen should also be comparable, but you're still going to get micro-stutters if you draw slowly. Sad that Apple's experience with the iPad pro's pen is much better, despite the device being relatively useless outside sketching/note-taking.
I would imagine the X1 tablet to be more likely to get pitted against Surface Pro, though it's getting hard to tell these days. Both now have real processors, active digitizers (though I don't know what brands), real SSD as opposed to crappy emmc, etc... so I am not really sure why one still costs twice as much as the other.

Picked up a MIIX 700 for Christmas and I am enjoying it. I don't regret waiting as I was not interested in anything with active cooling. Mostly using it in tablet mode/kickstand without keyboard for media consumption while traveling.

I loved my SP4 but returned it due to all the firmware glitches in the first few months. MS hasn't confirmed they're making a SP5 with KL have they? The Windows Event in October only showed the new Book and that Studio thing but no Surface Pro. Don't think there's been any word since?
Do yourself a favor and avoid this laptop. It most likely suffers the same keyboard/trackpad issues as the miix 700, which lenovo refuses to address or even acknowledge.
