Looking at live comments hope it has 4 or 6 gig of ram and 4000 to be the battery.
  • Amer007 - Tuesday, September 6, 2016 - link

    4000 mah for the battery
  • boe_d - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

The small battery is going to kill this thing. They'll need to throw in a spare battery and a charger that can charge the spare battery outside the phone if they want to salvage this release.
  • Gazzy - Tuesday, September 6, 2016 - link

    And you guessed neither.....
  • Ikefu - Tuesday, September 6, 2016 - link

Somehow every photo in the blog is the same photo until the last two. Think there was a mix up there.
  • Ryan Smith - Tuesday, September 6, 2016 - link

Yeah. We were trying a new workflow with live blogging, and it didn't quite work out the way we planned. The good news is that we know what went wrong and can fix it for tomorrow's Apple event.=)
  • Ikefu - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Cool =) BTW, The fact that you flip it so entries go in proper chronological order after the event is still one of the best things ever. Keep up the great work!
  • fanofanand - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

I second this, it's a major relief to not have to scroll to the bottom first. Thank you Ryan for taking reader input into account and making changes! Kudos!
  • Psyside - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

No need to explain that you will do things right when Apple things are presented, we already noticed that quite well, especially from Joshua Ho.

BTW where is the deep dive article? 8890 vs 820, probably not so important as any random phones with sub low end chipsets?
  • Ryan Smith - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

"BTW where is the deep dive article? 8890 vs 820, probably not so important as any random phones with sub low end chipsets?"

Unfortunately we've had to remove that from the schedule since Andrei has stepped down.
  • Meteor2 - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Oh no! Surely there is material which can still be used!
  • lilmoe - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

"Stepped down"? Can you please clarify?
  • Ryan Smith - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Though we typically don't publish when employees leave, he no longer works for AnandTech as an editor.
  • lilmoe - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

That's rather unfortunate. Actually, pretty disappointing.
  • fanofanand - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Andrei stepped down????? His LinkedIn still says mobile editor at Anandtech. Say it ain't so!
  • fanta666 - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

When can we expect the htc 10 complete review ?
  • Ryan Smith - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

    Soon (TM).
  • jordanclock - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

What is the 8890? I'm not finding anything on any 889X models anywhere.
  • bENDEJO - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

He's referring to the Samsung Exynos 8890 SOC. The Galaxy S7 phones came in two variants, a US version with a Snapdragon 820, and an international version with the Exynos 8890. Last years Galaxy S6 and Note 5 used their Exynos 7420 and avoided the SD 810 altogether.
Many readers have been waiting for a more in depth analysis between the differences SD 820 and 8890.
    Hope that helps.

I will save anyone from the hands on piece. The display will be way too blue (8000k or more), there will be bi-annual security updates at best, and it will have some type of quality control issue that will be baffling. Oh yeah, and the price will drop 150-200 2-3 months after release
  • Gazzy - Tuesday, September 6, 2016 - link

I will agree on the price aspect, really hoping for display to be calibrated for sRGB and having an option for a wider gamut.
  • Arbie - Tuesday, September 6, 2016 - link

...and... and... and.. microSD card? No? Forget it.
  • tyger11 - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Yes, it has both microSD card and removable battery.
  • AmdInside - Tuesday, September 6, 2016 - link

Don't mean to sound rude but please use DLSR in the future. The pics are pretty bad.

Let the LG V20 vs the ZTE Axon 7 audio shootout commence!
  • rozquilla - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Hmmm, looks pretty, but I don't trust LG anymore, got a state of the art G4 back then, who got image persistence issues and then the "bootloop" issue, basically converted it into very lightweight bricked paperweight. Both are hardware defects, and there are reports of the same issue happening to the V10 and G5.

There is a petition online with near to 7000 signatures asking for a recall, a lot of people lost all the data on the onboard flash.
  • alistair.brogan - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Well, I've had problems with every phone I've ever owned, and the Nexus 5 was the latest really bad example. So the price of the G4 is so good in Canada my entire family bought them. 3 working perfectly for a year, and I can say it's the best phone I've ever had. No annoying bugs or faults, and no software crashes like the Samsung S6 I tried first.

I'd say no one brand has better quality than LG, about the same amount of problems as other AAA brands have.
  • fanofanand - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

My N5 has all sorts of random tiny issues but nothing major. What happened with your N5 that was "really bad"?
  • boe_d - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

The small battery is VERY disappointing - particularly after the rumors it was going to be even bigger than the one in the S7 Note or the Edge. A 4000mah battery as rumored would probably help LG immensely with sales particularly after the boot loop issue and the poorly timed event announcement.
  • cyberfrost - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Disappointed with the battery capacity. I was expecting it to be 3500 or more. T-mo V10 has received only 2 updates till date and the bootloop issue G4 and some V10 and G5 units are facing does not show LG in good light either. I am little confused whether to upgrade to V20 or to wait for Nexus (or Pixel) phone.
  • Meteor2 - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

So as a phone designed for content creation, namely videography, this looks very, very good. OIS 4K recording with excellent sound, and replaceable battery. Will be very useful for news reporters, and people who are serious on Instagram will love it.
  • peterfares - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Have they retained the bootloop feature?
  • Rocket321 - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

I wish anandtech would to an expose' on bootloop-gate. I tried to brush it of as the vocal few, but after seeing hundreds+ of different posters on reddit & XDA it seems like a real issue and puts LG in a very bad light for their non-support of the issue. They should have issued a voluntary recall, accepting all G4 models and extended the warranty by 1 year for all owners.
  • fanofanand - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

It would be nice if Anandtech started publicly shaming companies that don't "do" updates. It makes absolutely zero sense to me, and creates no goodwill with their customers. It's almost as if LG/Samsung etc. are begging Apple to steal their customers. Of course Apple screws their customers with inadequate RAM etc. but not having security updates? That is baffling to me.
  • DukeN - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

Frank Lee my dear, I don't give a damn
  • boe_d - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

I really wanted to get this phone until the rumored 4000mah battery went to a dinky 3200mah battery. They should have leaked the real battery size so people looking for specs wouldn't be so disappointed. I think the majority of users would prefer a 3600 or 4000mah battery than some fancy recording equipment connected to a tiny microphone.
  • JMC2000 - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

So, just compared this to my Note 4, and to me, the V20 is somewhat of an upgrade.

I also wonder if it would've killed LG to make the V20 just .4mm thicker; at least for a larger battery.
  • iamlilysdad - Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - link

The hands-on has not showed up yet. Is it still coming?
  • theuglyman0war - Wednesday, September 14, 2016 - link

was hoping to hear more OLED HDR WCG hype from LG...
With current high-end monitor manufacturers offering endless IPS screens when I am going to replace their overpriced offerings with OLED if I made that investment for so much money...
I feel if LG would just but out a 30/32 inch TV finally I would buy 3 of them tomorrow! ( for my dream multi monitor configuration replacing my 3dvision surround setup )
